Sounds like you have a torque monster for the hills. You could probably benefit from the lighter weight of the small block on the turns but hey, keep the big block and build a second small block car to play with so you have the best of both worlds.

Build it how you want. Subframe connectors at least, get a torque strap to tie the motor the the frame rail, or better yet a motor plate, ss springs, and run at least a 3.91 gear set. If it were mine I would do fenderwell headers and a full cage with a big block. Nobody's paying Jack smack...

I agree on that one. My carb was dumping fuel really rich and my oil smelled like gasoline badly. Once I changed out my carb and put new oil in I do not have that problem any more, but as mentioned above, a compression test never hurt anyone.
