    71 Duster rear tire size

I'm not sure why but I did not get an e-mail notification when you replied Mike. My apologies. As I stated in my above post I have (or had with the ProStars) 1/2" tire to spring clearance at any point.

Biggest Tire In Stock Wheel Well?

I have 255/60R-15 on my 1974 Duster and have quite a bit of room still. not even close to touching anywhere and no rubbing when cornering or when loaded down (the black marks on the inner wheel well are not from these tires). I did not touch the wide factory wheel lips on the quarter panels...

Pro stars vs. Street lites..post pics of yours!

The 15x10" Weld Prostar with 4.5" backspace on my Dart Sport: They don't fit as nice as my 15x10" centerlines, but those have a 4-7/8" backspace. I had to add the offset hanger kit for the tires to clear the springs though.

Pro stars vs. Street lites..post pics of yours!

Depends if you have to buy them new. I just picked up a complete set of Weld Prostars off eBay in like new condition with all 4 center caps of (15x5" front w/3.5" backspace & 15x7" rear w/3.5" backspace) for $325.00 shipped. WOOT! I already had a set of like new pair of Weld Prostars 15x10"...

+2 I really like the Greg Weld Racelite Dragstars, they are HAWT! They can be had at a reasonable cost new too!

    Will these work

A lot of it also has to do with how high or low your car sits. Being that you have rallye wheels takes the headache of wheel width & backspacing out of it. I used to have 215/65R-14s mounted on factory rallye wheels on the front of my Duster until I lowered it down a bit. At that point I...

    wanted tires (2)

Harder compounds/longer lasting tires usually mean less traction (not as sticky). So how would they be better for street racing? Better for your wallet, but probably not better for street racing.

    Tires for 15x3.5" wheels

A taller tire will have a bigger sidewall. This will ride slightly better due to being able to absorb and cusion more and at the same time handle slightly worse due to being a little more mushy. Go with the 165R15 or 165/80R-15 (same size tires). There are a lot of different manufactures...

    Recall Wheels

Original or reproductions? I wonder why they are so much for an aftermarket wheel? Oh thats right HEMI Daytonas and the like had these. What a rip.

8 3/4 bigbolt axle versus wheel adaptors

I got a few of the Yukon axle kits on eBay, probably the cheapest place to find them. Though I'll never buy from MopartsDealer again ...long story. The axle kit may be a few dollars more but you'll have a lot better stuff. You can probably sell your original axles for $50.00+ to help recover...

8 3/4 bigbolt axle versus wheel adaptors

For only $280 + shipping you can buy a Yukon axle kit that are large bolt pattern with the wheel studs, bearings, axle seals, gaskets, and everything. Why bother with spacers or re-drilling your old equipment. Source up some brakes off anything else with the large bolt pattern. I suppose this...

    75 Dart Sport Tire fittment

You have your backspacing "backwards", I think. The more backspace a wheels has, the less "dished out" the wheel is. Therefore a 15 x 7" wheel with 3.0" of backspace will stick out further then a 15 x 7" wheel with 4" of backspace. Check out this site for the best quick reference wheel info...

    75 Dart Sport Tire fittment

On a 7" wide wheel you could have went 245/60-15 easy on the rear. As for the fronts if you plan on leaving your nose in the air they may work but any lower and it looks like rub city to me... Nice DEMON.

    75 Dart Sport Tire fittment

The fronts can be very tricky on A-bodies in my experience. Heck the rears are no picnic either I suppose. A lot of it depends on how low the suspension sits you your car. Look at the photos of the Dart Sport above. The front tires work well for him, however with the torsion bars lowered a...

    Weld Pro Star

In those pictures the springs are in the factory locations, hung with factory hangers & shackles, and the rear end is the factory piece at factory length. 1/2"-3/4" clearence should be all you need. They are a tad bit wide to lower the car where I want it to sit. They will work with the...

    71 Duster rear tire size

I have 15x10" ProStars with 4.5" with 295/50R-15" tires on the rear of my Dart Sport. They fit without the offset shackles even. I have about 1/2"-3/4" clearence to the springs. The tires are close to the outside lip but with an 8" wheel a 275/60R-15 should fit good.
  22. daniel_depetro

    Weld Pro Star

I have about 3/4" to the factory wheel tubs. The rear springs have about 1/2" tires clearence as-is.

    Weld Pro Star

I stuck the rear Weld wheels on just to mock them up. These are 15x10" with a 4.5" backspace wrapped in 295/50R-15 rubber. The springs are in their factory locations.
