Thanks for the info guys.It sounds like my problem with the oil use and all plus I have a vacuum gauge on the pillar and the vacuum has been dropping off,down to 15 inch's at idle.I hope it will wait till spring with no place inside to work.

I have a 97 Dakota with a 5.2 and have a question.It has the barrel style intake and has started running rough and using oil.Does the plate on the bottom of the intake go into vacuum or is it just a shield?I saw the gasket related to the pan and thought maybe.

You could try a inside pipe wrench on the mounting stud.Is there a hex inside the mounting stud,if there is try a large allen wrench.

Could be the coil breaking down or leaking oil out of it.......

It still wouldent be a bad idea to change that fuel filter.Who knows what the old pump pushed up stream.Sometimes a little pm goes a long ways.

I always use a little dab of non hardening permatex or aviation sealer on the threads. Beter to be safe then sorry.

I also changed the springs.went to the stiffest and it just made it run real rich.

When I richened it,I changed the mettering rods and then jets ,It dident make much difference co I went back to where I starrtedand it ran good.I t just had the surging issue and felt lean.

I have a problem with my car surging on just a cruze.Its a 318 .040 over,performer int,625 carter,268/272 purple cam.I thought it was lean so I fattened it way up but dident help.If I disconect the vac advance,it goes away but off the line performance suffers.Anyone have any ideas?

Does anyone have opinions on using aluminum fuel line on the street?Im going to replace my tank and sender and got a sender with a 3/8 line.I was going to replace the line all the way to the pump but dont know if all the vibration on the street would be bad for the line.
