    Driveshaft made to order options???

hey guys just checking to see if there is a good made to order driveline website that is reliable and reasonable in price for a mild 340/727/8.75 combo. Thanks I have a good driveline shop I’ve used in the past to cut my driftshaft for my keisler 5-spd but would like to hear other...

    Good converter for the street?

I called Hughes Performance and gave them my cam and car specs. You can also go on their website and submit your specs. They responded quickly. I ended up with their 24-25 converter for my 340/727 I’m sure a custom one will work out well If you need it for street/strip

Thx for all the help. I’ll order an SFI 10” Flexplate today. I spoke with Hughes on the phone before I bought this converter they recommended for my build. I didn’t recall the diameter of the flexplate when I bought the converter.

    This ain’t gonna work

Sorry converter is fine. This flexplate doesn’t fit obviously so I need one that does. I’ll measure the diameter of the flex plate and the converter and go from there I guess. Was looking for a recommendation for one that fits this converter and a 727. The converter is neutral balance. No...

    727 accumulator spring

Good to know. I'll read the transgo shift kit instructions. Btw. What material would make a good rod to replace the spring? Plastic Delrin, copper tubbing, steel, conduit, aluminum tube. Etc?

    727 accumulator spring

First time 727 DIY rebuild. 73' car tranny that's going into my 68' truck with a 440. Got the tranny tore down and found that there was no accumulator spring. Did not see a piston rod, so wth? Do I just leave out the accumulator spring? I'm putting in a TF2 shift kit in it. I read that the...

If you had the choice which would you choose?

tko 6060 would be the ticket. not sure of the final ratio though. the tko600 is .64 5th the tko500 in the vert is .68 5th
  21. daves66valiant

    Whats everyone running for gears?

yeah the tko500 has the 3.27 1st gear
  22. daves66valiant

    Whats everyone running for gears?

Running 3.91s with Detroit TruTrac and tremec 5-speed. First gear is 3.27 so it should bunny hop like 4.89s at launch from stoplight to stoplight :) 5th gear is a nice .64.

    Keistler 5 speed

You have the hydraulic slave? I had to use a small syringe to inject hydraulic fluid into the system to get it started and takes a while to get all the air out of the system.

    8 3/4 rebuild costs....

Had mine done a couple years ago. Cost me about $1600 total for parts and labor. This included Detroit True-Trac, new Richmond 3.91 ring and pinion, New bearings, seals and Larger Yoke, u-joints, and gear oil. Hope this helps. Wish I could have done it for a case of Beer. ummmm beeeeeer

    5 speeds KIESLER vs CMS

Don't get me started. LOL. I had to do plenty of modification for the Keisler setup. They say "No hack job" BULLSHIT :thebirdm: Like Don said. You will have to cut the crossmember. The piece you cut is not all that critical anyways. The CMS crossmember or the Keisler crossmember will give...
