if some guy is gonna sell you a complete 4-speed set up for $550 and there are no broken parts buy it . that is a great deal. The bell housing , covers and clutch linkage and fork wont work on the big block though so you'll have to buy that stuff.

The 727 is a great trans , but there is nothing like shifting that hurst 4 speed a833

linkages is the same but i think you might have a problem with the torque converter. Way back when i put a late model 904 in my 67 dart gt 273. i had to have a custom converter built. everything else hooked up the same.

My old auto body shop teacher put one in his 69 dart and he didn't have to do any major floor mods to get it to fit.

Make sure you hook the kick down linkage back up. A lesson i learned a long time ago. Your trans will burn up without it.

I had this problem on a 67 dart gt i used to have. I put a later 70's style 904 in my 67 273. I had a i converter custom built to make it work. I'm guessing you will have to do the same.

I just got it up on jack stands this morning and the wheel bearing is fried. I guess my warning was what i thought was break noises. Next time I'll check it out right a way lol. At least i was able to get it home with out a tow.

About 10 years ago I put a 70's 904 in my 67 Dart GT with a 273.I cant remember the name of the place that did it but I had the torque converter shop make a custom converter with the front half of a 67 273..and the back half with the newer 318/360 style spline.So it is possible if you can find...
