Thanks for the replys for some reason I didn't realize this would be a simple remove and replacement of the guide. I always over think things....

Well I was taking my heads apart to clean them up and start to do a little port work when I found this crack at the top of the guide under the spring. Any opinions as to how to fix or is this fixable? Should I be concerned or is this ok? The heads aren't anything special just 587 casting 360...

Tapping and Allen head plugs is the best thing I would say. One guy I knew just cleaned the holes out with brake clean and put jb weld in them and it worked just fine.

side note make sure lifter is primed when checking length i have thin head gaskets and my j heads are cut down to 65cc cant remember total that was milled off but it was a good bit. and mine were 7.125 6.99 seems awfully short.... i must have measured mine 10 times before i ordered

im not really sure this is a wild camshaft its only a 272 duration which isnt much more than a stock 340 cam and its powerband is from 1500-5500, why would i want to start to achieve full lift halfway thru its power band? this cam shouldnt have much trouble making vacuum when installed correctly.

i kinda agree with you on this ive messed with the rhodes on a buddys 360 wasnt overly impressed and they are a pain to get adjusted properly. also i have no problem tuning for low vacuum.

88-91 for tbi on the 318 LA 92 first year for the 318 magnum 89-92 for tbi on the 360 LA 93 first year for the 360 magnum

yeah its just the pic angle they clear just fine however they do have larger diameter comp springs on the heads. my roller rockers wont clear these springs i already tried.... so i looked to make sure these one cleared thanks anyway!

well i bought a cheap inside/outside caliper and seem that the bore is 4" not .025 oversized. look at the pics i measured the bore and piston. guess thats good news i can use them in my build now!! im still curious as to what the stampings mean??
