Odd tach and AFM gremlin...any ideas??

I had planned to move them to the ignition switch itself. That source was a quick plug in just to for the initial start up, timing/carb adjustments, etc...

Odd tach and AFM gremlin...any ideas??

Turns out the new repop ignition switch is bad. When the car is running and I wiggle the key, AFM and tach are live. If I let go of the key, I lose them.

Odd tach and AFM gremlin...any ideas??

Auto meter tach and A/F meter plugged into the heat/ac fuse... Have a signal to both when key is the on position. Once car is running I lose the signal to both. But...heater fan still works. I ran a jumper wire from both direct to the battery and they work as they should. Could this be a...

    MSD wiring

Well, this may shed some light on my issue. Not to hijack, but... My small red trigger wire goes through a switch on a panel. Turn switch on, box (6 digital) lights up as it’s supposed to. Key in crank position, no lights, no start. Similar set up, no ballast resister w/1 wire alternator. Hmmm...

    Battery mount idea...

Has anyone ever mounted a battery (small light weight or otherwise) below the OE spot? Like down on the frame rail. Wish I had a pic, but I think you get the idea.

    Light weight batteries?

Anyone run a lightweight battery in a street/strip car? Like the Odyssey 680, a Braille 17/18, or a Dyna-Batt?? Talk to me...

Good points! The ammeter terminals and components are in nice OE condition.

Engine wiring harness question / discussion...

Haha!! I’m of the same opinion! Nothing can spoil a cool build for me as much as messy wiring!

Engine wiring harness question / discussion...

Nope...I never say never lol. The heap is being built for nice weather, thus the no wipers. We’ll see how the one wire works...

Engine wiring harness question / discussion...

What have you all done in a similar application? I have a 69 Dart project. Call it a “restro-mod” for lack of a better term. My question(s) pertains to engine compartment wiring. I have a repo head/parking light harness in place. However, the OE charging system will not be used as I have a...

    choosing the right alternator

Let’s dust this off shall we? I have a silly question or two... Using the 1 wire as we know eliminates all of the external charge stuff. That said, can I eliminate the harness from the bulkhead connector that is for all of the external stuff. ie: ballast, voltage regulator, etc? I can’t see...

Never mind all. I posted before I “googled” but have info now.

    Adding fuses/circuits...69 a body?

I am wanting to add another small fuse panel in addition to my OE fuses. My plan is to leave all OE circuits as is, but will need to add an electric fan and fuel pump. What say the FABO electric experts? Thank you!

Street/strip car: Elec fuel pump and fan?

I'm going to use a Holley Black pump and a Chevy HHR fan, both of which I have "in stock". As for power? Well, the planned mule motor will be nothing more than a warmed up 400-ish HP 360, then a planned upgrade to a 500-ish HP 408. Heck, I may fast forward to the stroker if I have to sink...

Street/strip car: Elec fuel pump and fan?

Are you street/strip guys and gals wiring electric FP and electric fans through a separate switch, or straight to a IGN ON hot lead?? Can't decide where to put switches, so I'm also looking for ideas there as well. 100% stock dash 69 Dart that I'd rather not drill holes in... Thanks in...

Step on the brake pedal and WTF...??

I hate electrical issues. No, make that HATE them!! New project car (69 Dart), all STOCK wiring. Wiring harness is so virgin, the car's never had an aftermarket radio! Everything works good, except: Step on the brake pedal and brake lights are on - good. But...so is the front parking...
