yeah , I procrastinated on a complete newly rebuilt set up , think it was hemgtx was selling a while back , big mistake on my part . As always, when the deal is there ,I aint got the coin .

this is *** backwards from what a brand new 68 forrm S barracuda would do from the factory , in a panic stop , front discs would not lock up , the back drums would !

I cant either, 205 70 15 on front , 295 60 d15 on rear , 15/16 master, 4 wheel disc, does stop pretty well tho.

I have a 15/16'' master cyl on mine , wish I`d gone w/ a 7/8'' , stops good , but wont lock up at all. Doesn`t have any abnormal travel at all !

I use the same , mine is from an 86 diplomat tho. 15/16 , stops my car , but cant lock them up ---? Wish I`d gone 7/8'' !

I now have 8.5`s on the back of my car, would like to have some fronts to match , but 7'' is the narrowest ones they made , maybe 6'' , but I dont want that much weight up there .

I didnt read all these posts , are those ur front wheels ? how wide are they ?

What size master cyl. are you running ??

ONCE U GET THE SIZE FIGURED OUT , u can go to fastenall and get allen head bolts the same size , of course you`ll have to use dthick washers w/ them . I have had 2 on my car now for about 10 yrs . .

I had to use an offset block anyway , (raised port heads are big), its a 4 to two conversion, 1/2'' thick, modified the rod to the same 1/2'' to allow for the block.

I have 4 wheel discs on my 68 fastback , keep the stock splitter/residual valve , I run a 15/16'' 1987 diplomat master cyl. , stops well , but I cant lock them up . If I ever get the urge , I might go to a 7/8'' master cyl. . 72blunblu has a lot of experience in these matters ----- could also...

HEY BLU , WHAYT ARE THE CHEAPER WAYS U MENTIONED / What is the best set up to run w/ coil over springs , using a stock k-frame . Am running 4 wheel discs already on the car , want to go back to the stock kframe w/o torsion bars .

I dont run one on mine , just the orig. feed block for the old drum brakes . Your master cyl. piston is too big -------------jmo

I wire brushed mine , still on the stock brake lines and reused them before putting the end fittings on and double flaring them . Dam sure didnt use them to bend the new lines !

Unless the rear tires are a lot taller = more leverage against lock up .

With 4 wheel discs , I use the stock distribution block anyway , no proportioning valve at all-------

Question , if the bowls on a new 15/16'' master cyl. are the same size , does it make a differance which way the lines are hooked up ?

I measured mine when I bought it new, its 15/16'' , alum. , dual resorvior -------??

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I fear ur right , but it pisses me off too , to buy hotrod parts for a 50 yr old car , from jegs or summit , and the have metric fasteners in them !! dsam chinese one-hung-low b.s. !!

Dont know about the pedal travel on the 7/8, bet it would be fine . but mine is perfect on that account. You will need more pressure for staging with disc brakes , i found that out the hard way, discs dont hold as well on the line as drums , have been my experiance .
