    Kickdown linkages

Hey! Someone gave me these linkages today and was curious if anyone could identify what make and year they go to Thanks in advance!

    Band adjustment methods?

Just throwing this out there. Remember that unless you have one of those fancy electronic wrenches, a torque wrench becomes less accurate the farther from the center of it's range you go (becoming even less accurate at the lower end than the higher end due to how it's tension system works)...

    Do all 904's do this?

No that sounds a little particular. Do you have the normal spread of first, second, drive, neutral, reverse, park out of curiosity? Generally if you have it manually in first or second and shift to drive it is going to change to whatever gear the trans thinks it should be in. For example, if you...

    TCI vs. Cope

Hahahaha it's always nice to be able to point at something say "see that car that blew your doors off? I built every part"

    TCI vs. Cope

Doing a classic Rick 180 here guys..... Gonna rebuild it lol just safe myself money and all plus if company's get to name their rebuilt trans's, I feel I have the right to deem mine the official "Naramore power express" hahah XD still would highly recommend CRT just off of customer service

    TCI vs. Cope

Thanks for all the thread links guys, unfortunately I really don't have the time to rebuild it myself (or the experience really) think my plan is to buy the cope, but hang on to my old 904 and tinker with it and learn off of it, make it into a vicious little thing haha

    TCI vs. Cope

Going with a cope 904 super street! :) I don't even have the trans yet and already love CRT. 100% helpful and just a great guy!

    TCI vs. Cope

Hence the obvious part lol it's really more of cope vs. rebuild
  14. fnaramore

    TCI vs. Cope

Guessing this is gonna be a really obvious answer but still figured I'd ask. Swapping out the trans in my car and have three options 1: rebuild (if so, what kit would you use?) 2: TCI Streetfighter 3: Cope 904 pro street (is there no super street 904 like there is for the 727?) Any...

    Slipping 2-3 shift

I played with the kickdown linkage, I'll see what that does and verify that the front band is adjusted properly (72 in/lbs then two turns off right?) and if nothing from that, check the line pressure
  16. fnaramore

    Slipping 2-3 shift

What should line pressure be? And it happens at 1/4-1/3 throttle. Never half or light throttle
  17. fnaramore

    Slipping 2-3 shift

Yeah, 1-2 is a perfectly clean shift. If it was the band being misadjusted, wouldn't the 2-3 shift be bad all the time?
  18. fnaramore

    Slipping 2-3 shift

If it should be factory spec rather than what transgo says, what is factory spec?
  19. fnaramore

    Slipping 2-3 shift

Yeah it is and I adjusted them like the instructions said to, was that wrong?
  20. fnaramore

    Slipping 2-3 shift

Hey guys, so I just installed a transgo TF-2 shift kit and followed the directions exactly (except I didn't grind down the tv valve like everyone recommends). It shifts great except every so often on the 2-3 shift it does this little high rev for like half a second and then engages 3rd. And it...

    7.25 gear oil?

  22. fnaramore

    7.25 gear oil?

Hey guys! Was just curious what gear oil you'd recommend for my 7.25? Manual says SAE 80 or 90. Temperature has never been below -10, usually around 10-15 degrees in the winter.

    Transgo TF2 mods

I realize that, it makes it easier to kickdown at higher speeds is what iv been told. Apparently if you grind it, kicking down at high speeds becomes a pain even with the rod fully adjusted
  26. fnaramore

    Transgo TF2 mods

Yeah, apparently it makes it so you can fine tune down your kickdown. I don't think its a big deal if you did

    Transgo TF2 mods

Hey guys! Haven't been on in a bit but hope this thread finds you'll are doing well! Anyways, got a TF-2 coming my way and was curious if anyone had any suggested and trusted modifications. The big one seems to be don't grind down the tv valve, wanted to know if there are any other popular ones...

Yeah, that's about what I was expecting, just wanted to make sure there wasn't a hidden thing I was missing. The one I found is outta of a jeep cherokee, so will most likely take a bit more work.

First off, Happy New Year to all you guys!!! I found a chrysler 8.25 rear end and I was curious if anyone had any experience with doing the swap or know what I need to alter or prep to put in the 8.25?
