I use black shoe polish to get rid if all the " white pinstripes" after "waxing", also enhance black handles, trim with can of black shoe polish, soft brush to apply and another to buff. Try it, you'll like it . Not much real "wax" anymore, most time its just silicon .

That piece attaches to the glass and is the "felt", moves up and down in the empty channel . It's quite "fragile" , nothing like the original, at least the cheap replacement I got. But I don't think there's a hell of a lotta choice, then, anyway. Det Muscles may be different, better I hope...

I got a gallon of Lacquer thinner for clean-up last Friday at my auto paint store. Doesn't mean they had lacquer, but maybe an indication .

Lordco is a local chain store, but it appears to be a commercially avail display rack, I have seen elsewhere as well. Racks of shackles, chain links etc . Amazon is great if you don't need it now, but sometimes fondling the parts, and imagination can form new/better ideas.

My auto parts store has a rack of misc bushes hung on the wall. All sizes, and alone or combined, (sleeving one in another, or end on end) can make just about any bush size you need . Good luck .

Our local auto parts suppliers have a rack of sectioned drawers, that have misc screws, body clips, plugs, etc nec for a body shop . I'd try there

The striker damage was caused by sagging hinges, ignored door/striker adjusments, and dozens of opening/closings daily. Today's limited use, proper alignment, and hopefully hinge repair, reduces stress. A small patch works really well with limited time, and paint touch-up required . Lol, I was...

I think that's what he is trying to avoid, - large areas of paint /bodywork.

I have often cut around the "cracked" metal and weld in a 3"x 3"ish piece, grind welds flush . Be aware of the "pocket" holding the striker nut .

Lotta parts stores have them hung on the wall/display in a bubble pack .
