    Mechanical fuel pump???

How do you adjust the choke? I have a mechanical choke that uses a stepped cam to a heat sensitive coil attached to the exhaust manifold. I have adjusted the idles which uses the stepped cam and a screw for the high idle.

    Mechanical fuel pump???

67Dart273 You think the vent is blocked? I do know it had been previously blocked. When I pulled the tank I made sure the vent was under the rubber floor gasket but not into the tank gasket. I can double check and see if it has moved.

    Mechanical fuel pump???

Okay I have a slant six with mechanical fuel pump. I drive the car EVERYDAY but every morning I pump 2-3 times kick it over and let it idle for a second then it dies. I kick it over after 2-3 more pumps and it is usually good. My question is since I drive it everyday shouldn't I expect the...

    Screwed up Carb

Well good news. I apparently jumped to conclusions I apparently flooded the engine. She is running much better.

    Screwed up Carb

Thank you very much That is exactly what I needed. One quick question if the float is set to high would that prevent the car from starting? I would assume it would create a flood/to rich situation

    Screwed up Carb

Thank you Mopar_Head but I don't have that tool. I have what looks like a small framing square that was included in my rebuild kit. The problem is there is no mark on the tool to say this is the float level and the instructions do not indicate it either.

    Screwed up Carb

Ok so I figured out where the economizer hook should be placed. I am sorry I said metering block. The car still won't start I think the float is probably to high. I have seen several places mentioning measuring the fuel level in the bowl but no idea what the proper measurement is. Also where...

    Screwed up Carb

Okay so I disassembled and cleaned my 1920 Holley Carb but I screwed up. The only thing I adjusted was the float level. What drill bit can be used to adjust it correctly? Also How do I know if the metering hook is in the right place? The metering block passes through the throttle body and...

    Filler neck gasket leak

When I installed it I coated it and the filler neck with petroleum jelly. I examined the gasket as best as I could but I don't see any tears. Can you explain your marine tube fix? I am curious

    Filler neck gasket leak

Okay I am getting frustrated. I recently replaced my gas tank and filler neck gasket and gas tank strap. When I took a left turn I noticed I could smell a little gas. When I stopped I took a look and I saw a drip of gasoline on the filler neck gasket. I decided to at least temporarily use...

    Carb Bow Question

The issue was not the all thread. I did buy that and cut it to length. The problem I was having was finding the hex coupler that fit the coarse threads on the existing bolt. I believe it is a 20 pitch thread. I was able to use an 18 pitch that was a little loose but it did work. I have the new...

    Carb Bow Question

I guess I am calling it the wrong piece. Just at the throat of the carb there is a coat hanger looking piece with a bolt in it. That bolt is fed through the air cleaner housing and tightened down with a wing nut on top. I am referring to the coat hanger piece/bolt. I am not sure if it can be...

    Carb Bow Question

I want to put a different air filter on my car but the bow is to short how can I get it taller. I tried to find a threaded nut extension but everything I found was fine thread and this is coarse.

    New Gas Tank "Leak"

Okay looking at the service manual it appears I may be able to remove the filler neck without tanking the tank out. Can anyone confirm this? Suggestions help? I would really rather not drop the tank again.

    New Gas Tank "Leak"

Found the reason for the leak. OMG knock on some freaking wood. If it can happen it will. The f'ing filler neck gasket tore. It was good when I put it in I checked it all was good sometime between now and then it tore. AHHHHH damn it all to hell.

    New Gas Tank "Leak"

65 Barracuda Ok not sure what I need to do here. The filler neck is leaking slightly. I thought I had it in the tank deep enough but obviously I don't. Any suggestions on what I can do to position it correctly? Should I spray some WD40 and just twist?

    Fuel Sending unit adjustment

Ok let me weigh in on this a little. My sender has been replaced not because the old one died but because the gas had turned in the tank and I would sooner replace it then try and reuse it. The gauge actually reads pretty accurate it was just a hair low I replaced the tank yesterday and I had...

    Fuel Sending unit adjustment

    Fuel Sending unit adjustment

My gauge reads very low. The gauge works and the sending unit works. I tested the sender outside the tank and the gauge will show full when float is at the top and empty at bottom. So I am guessing the sending unit needs to be adjusted. How so you adjust it?

    Fuel sending unit connector

No it actually looks similiar but its bulkier and the shield extends further down.

    Fuel sending unit connector

I am hoping someone can direct me to a good replacement connector. I am getting ready to replace my tank and I know my old connector is a little loose and beat up. I am hoping I can still get the connector. I checked with NAPA but they were unable to recommend a replacement.

    Fuel Tank - 65 Barracuda

I am looking for a good price on a Fuel Tank. I found this one on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3984Q2em1423Q2el2649QQitemZ200642869931QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWAXQ3aIT Anybody know anything about it or can suggest some place?

    leak at sending unit

Glad I found this was about to ask the same question. My sending unit had a lock ring that was WAY thinner then the original so I did reuse the original locking ring but new gasket. I have developed a leak now though. Reading this makes me feel it is probably that the lock ring has walked off...

Air bubbles in the gas line

Is it possible the pickup and/or gas cap is not sealing properly? Is there a way to test this maybe pressurize the system some way?

Air bubbles in the gas line

Not sure whats going on but I have a clear fuel filter on my 65 barracuda and I was showing my friend something and noticed air bubbles percolating through the filter. Is this normal or where do I need to look for this?

    Stupid Fuel Sender Question

I realize to a seasoned pro this is going to sound about as dumb as $h1t but here goes. The rubber gasket for the sending unit to the tank does it go on the tank side or the locking ring side. I want to say tank side but it is currently on the new sender that is in the box lodged with the lock ring.

    Loose Bolt on Intake

Funny enough the bolt comes to a point at the end. Like it was supposed to be pointed. Kind of reminds me of some of a self tapping screw. Glad there is no air leak. Is it something that needs to be fixed right now or will I be ok till the "next" time?

    Loose Bolt on Intake

I am not sure what it is but I would like to find out as I think it maybe the source of an air leak. On the intake manifold between the third and fourth cylinder from the front of inches left of the carb there is a bolt. The bolt is loose I have removed it and it does not appear to be broke but...
