I mounted a Cheetah shifter to the console in my 67 fastback, even moved it rearward for easier access.

Can a cable 904 with linkage be adapted for cable?

There are tons of after market shifters for automatics, all use a cable and have bracket to adapt.

    Clutch intermittently goes to floor

Does it work sometimes and sometimes not? Sounds like air in the slave cylinder or an internal seal in the slave taking a dump. Or the adjustment is off alowing the pedal to go to far over center for the spring under your dash to bring it back. Not claiming to be an expert here, just some...

904 wont shift into top under load.

Four different things could cause the problem. 1. kickdown linkage out of adjustment 2. governor sticking 3. sticky valve in the valve body 4. front clutch in the trans is toast did i miss any?

    Stumped and Stuck in Park

If your car is on in incline, sounds like the parking pawl in the trans is being held tight by the weight of the car trying to roll backward. Sometimes it takes a strong pull on the shift lever to get it to disengage.

    Good Auto Shifter To Use??

My bad it is the SCS and the cable does come out the front of the shifter, BUT it loops and approaches the trans from the rear to hook up to the trans shift lever.

    Good Auto Shifter To Use??

Definately the Turbo Action STS, and the great part is the cable enters from the back of the trans, so you not fighting headers or steering linkage. Its pricey, but SO worth it.

    727 2-3 shift problem

Usually when a tranny starts sliding into third gear, its a problem with the front clutch pack, sounds like time to take it apart. Check to make sure your kick down linkage is adjusted correctly first! Good luck!

    Help! 727 Tailshaft removal

If you remove the rear trans mount you will see two philips head screws on the tailshaft holding on a metal plate. Remove the screws and the plate, under it is an access hole to get at the clip on the tailshaft support bearing. You will need a snap ring pliers that expands the ring to release it...

    Help! It won't move!!

just reread your post, you didnt drop the oil pan and install a new filter? Filter might be plugged, but rare to see that happen, most likely the pump.

    Help! It won't move!!

Put a pressure gauge into one of the take offs, 100lb gauge will work. I think you wont get any reading. My guess is the front pump on the trans too a sh*t. Sorry, Just my thoughts, maybe some one else has another idea, but the gauge will tell the truth.

    Flex Plate

That will work but at that point the only thing left is to remove the crossmember. Taking out those 4 extra bolts will make your job much easier.

    Flex Plate

You can only replace the flex plate by removing the transmission! Sorry...........

    Ratchet shifter & Factory Console

I used a Cheetah SCS, great thing about it the cable approches the trans from the rear so you dont have to deal with steering or exhaust interference.

    Hurst or B&M

I installed the turbo action scs into my council , they are the only company that makes a shifter with the rear entry cable that I found. I replaced a hurst that the front entry cable was always a problem keeping away from the headers. Rear entry is definatly the way to go! The shifter works...

    Shifter possion

Your right, the shift lever should be all the way forward. You did'nt mention what type of shifter your installing! Is it cable drivin, if so , the cable must enter the trans lever from the front, if you brought it in from the rear it could account for your lever being *** backwards. The only...

    Shift Kit for a 727

Just a thought, but check the adjustment on your 2nd gear band. The factory adjustment specs are quite loose to give you a smooth shift. Add a shift kit (or valve body) and you can tighten up that adjustment. I spent 15 plus years with Chrysler rebuilding tranys in a dealership. There are many...
