The majority of the noise was because of the power steering belt being a little too loose. Still hear a noise that sounds almost like fluid squirting somewhere. Maybe something internal with the power steering pump? Could one of the lines be backed up, causing pressure surges?

What are they for? And would the squeak be loud enough to hear through the firewall while driving? Thanks

cudamark- where are the u-joints and would the squeak only in drive gear under load?

Automatic. Stops when coasting in neutral (only does it in drive) Doesn't make the sound in reverse. Dropped the tranny pan today and replaced fluid. Didn't see anyhting seriously wrong. Someone said the sound may be coming from the bellhousing. Could it be something with the torque converter?

A few months ago I found a performance manual for slant 6 engines online. I searched again today, and couldn't find it. I'm thinking I'm just searching under the wrong name because I know I saw a few different websites that had them. Thanks for your help.

It is already in pretty good running condition. I was thinking about a new carb and a turbo but im not exactly sure how to do all of that. What would I have to do to convert it to a 4 barrel or six-pack carb? Thanks for the responses. -Logan
