Shaft should not be bent,lower arm when installed should be level. From what you are describing the case shift lever is to long, they do have different lengths, you need one that rod hole is closer to selecting shaft of valve body! Linkage adjusts in neutral position. Lon

Those frictions don't look bad in the pic., What color was the friction material, was it black and kind of gravel feet to it? Need pic of pan or material. Sounds like convertor lock up material

There are two different rear seals for 904 trans , pre 72 and post 72 the original seal for pre 72 is a smaller out side diameter than the post 72. pre 72 seal is getting harder to locate as most parts stores don't have the early listing and usually have to order it in. Early national # 8935s Lon

Push the seal down till it stops then install the wire clip the same way till it stops then install the gear, it should turn stiff with new seals.... Lon

Don't use the Lucas, it is a seal softener, it might stop it for a while but it don't know when to quit and you will be pulling the trans out to reseal it in a short order meaning not only the front seal but all the rubber in the trans. Are you sure it's not the case lever seal at the shifter...

As I stated before both issues, no down shifting to low and no kick down or line rise at full throttle are gov. Issues. gov has sticking weights need to pull tail housing and repair gov. Lon

That drilled spot. Is part of the trango shift kit that has been installed at some time. Binding or tie up in low recheck band adjustment. No downshift to low poss sticking gov. Lon

Yes add a spring to pull lever forward to stay in contact with cable movement to get proper closed throttle up shifts. This applies to both cable or rod style linkages. Lon

Take the snap.ring off the output shaft ,pull out front planetary and check splines inside planetary to shaft thy will be pulled out. Bad front planetary, try to find a steel carrier to replace aluminum one. Lon

That is the top end loop from the reverse band anchor strap, that's why the rear band was not working correctly. Strap breaks off and rear servo can't apply the band fully. Pull it out there is no incar fix for it!!! Lon

Can you get a better picture of the case threads left in the case, that fitting is designed to be a wedge fit and if over torqued will break out like that. Transtar sells a case repair fitting just for this issue it is a special fitting that bottoms out in the drilled case area and repairs the...

As a trans man for over 40 years that's dumb, no problem with access just remove dust shield!!

Consolidated vehicle convertors Build date April 2016 CVC was just aquired by Transtar Ind. Should be a 3 didget code stamped in pump side of convertor to I'd build basic.

Have 3 more qt ready to pour in when motor fires , have someone to help so you can set motor, then check trans after motor is stable.

With the temp sensor reading -8 it may have oil in the case connecter.oil infiltrated in the connector is a common issue that will give the computer all kinds of goofy readings. If oil in it you will need to change the shift sol. and internal wiring, valve body will need to come out to change it

Might also have a crack in the convertor hub, common problem with mid year 904 convertors. They will crack from the pump drive gear notches out past the seal area causing a leak.

There are 2 different rev. Bands for the 727 single wrap band , band changed in 1991 model year. Early band drum measures 6" in diameter, late band drum measures 6.250 diameter. If you place the late 6.250 band on a 6" early drum you will not be able to adjust it because band is to long and you...

Only in certain gears at each tap location. Low and rev by rear servo , forward and second gears by front servo areas, gov pressure by lower tail housing area. Each port for different ranges. Lon

Sounds like tv linkage issue, with out the correct linkage on the throttle arm of the carb you will not get proper line rise at lower openings and trans will slip and burn up in short order. Proper throttle linkage is critical to any mopar trans to live

Rear band lock up is usually caused by high line pressure, high idle apply in rev. or a loose rear band adjustment causing it to **** over and jam. Lon
