Quick Ratio vs Standard Pitman and Idler Arms

The "Quick Ratio " arms were intended to go on a standard ratio box. Also they were initially intended to be used on "E/B" body cars. Im sure that is why there is some clearance issues with "A" body cars. If you install one of the quick pitman arms on a 16-1 box the actual ratio at the wheels is...

'67 Dart drag car with a rack and pinion swap needs some geometry help

The double shear is always better but some times not practical. That said there are a lot of dirt track race cars out there that use the bump steer spacers. Dirt tracks are not known to be the smoothest surface to race on. I have been on tracks that resemble a freshly plowed corn field and the...

'67 Dart drag car with a rack and pinion swap needs some geometry help

The biggest issue with this is it is setup for a 5/8" rod end. You would need to find a GM (80 malibu) inner tie rod (LH thread) and the correct length swedge tube .. Look in speedway motors oval track section.

    73up lower ball joints.

So if my parts manuals are correct. The drum brake and disc brake lower ball joints are the same on the 73 and newer A bodies. I have a bad left lower on my disc brake car and I have a pair of drum brake assemblies laying here. I’m going to take one apart and see if it fits. UPDATE. Yes they...

i ordered a rebuilt power steering gear for my 73 dart dirt track car from rock auto and this is what I received. Have not seen one of these before. It looks like it will bolt up but not sure where the return line hooks up. Was wondering if it is one of the new “borgeson” boxes? Anyone know...

Best Air Shocks for Raising Back end?

Find a extra set of leaf springs and make your own spring pack. You can even use leafs from other models if you keep your main spring.

    Upper control arms

Loaded question. THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION--- so for me the main reason for going aftermarket would be to be able to get better geometry. So the adjustable uppers is what I would look into. that said you can usually get decent caster and camber with the stock uppers and offset bushings.

    16:1 steering box

I have a 16-1 manual in my feather duster 360-4sp. 225-50-15 tires around 3deg castor. I did have a "grant" tuff wheel that is about 13.5" diam it was a little stiff under 5mph but fine above 20mph. I changed the steering wheel back to a stock one that is around 16" i think. that helped the...

    Suspension Rebuild Dilemma!

As far as oil pan clearance goes you probably have some type of adaptor motor mounts in there. you can maybe shim the mounts if pre 72 biskit type but if it was my car I would custom shape the pan with a ballpeen hammer and touch up the paint.

    Suspension Rebuild Dilemma!

You have the 73 up steering link so my best guess is you would need the K772 size uppers and 73 up disc brake lowers, idler.tierods and pitman arm.

There is a nut on the top of the box that locks a allen set screw. hold the set screw from turning and loosen the lock nut a turn then turn the set screw in a half a turn. see if that helps the slop. if so make sure you can turn the wheel from lock to lock with no tight spots. if you can and you...

A spring is a spring wether torsion, coil or leaf. that said if you liked the swaybar before for sure continue to use one. Personally I would not drive a older muscle car for long without sway bars.
