what should I look for when I pull the adapter out? Will it have the helical gear in it like "standard" speedo drives?

I guess the plug on the tailhousing is for the speedo, so in hindsight I guess this trans is out of range because I need my speedo and mine on my pickup is the regular cable type...

done some digging now that it's light outside. According to a data plate for lack of better words in the glovebox the rear gears are 4.10:1, the tire size is LT235/85R16. I'm quite sure its known that its a Dana 60 being the truck is 3/4 ton. And it's 2WD not 4WD, forgot to add that.

car has 2.76:1 gears, never mind... if I can pull the deal off I'll be going to St. Louis to pick it up.

stock is the plan with the exception of the ignition. don't know what rear gear it has in it, if its that high then I wouldn't think an OD would be necessary. I'm just thinking out loud right now.

found out a company named JVX out of Memphis TN makes an adapter plate/kit to put 500/518's to big blocks...

hey y'all, I'm thinking of putting a shift kit in the 904 that's in my 72 Duster. The trans is out of a 88 5th Ave and has a stock rebuild in it as well as stock torque converter. I don't want anything radical I just wanna tighten up the shifts a little. This is a mild small block street car...
