Planning a shop build, any suggestions?

I can agree in partial with some of the stuff you said Mr. 512 however the internet can be a wealth of info especially if what you are reading comes with 17 years experience backed by over 500 years of concreting. It's difficult to determine who the "best" concrete plant is anywhere in a...

Planning a shop build, any suggestions?

Hopefully I'm not too late to offer some advice on your concrete and maybe some others can learn some good "stuff" about concrete. No matter where you pour a slab of concrete on the earth, gravity will start to pull down the aggregate in the matrix of the slab and pores or bleed channels form...

    Kobalt Oil-free Compressor spits water

Just picked up this Kobalt 26G Oil-free(ish) compressor because it's quiet. Yes it is however, after the lengthy fill-up, it spits moisture from the first use. My older, extremely LOUD HF compressor has a simple moisture trap I added. If possible, can a trap be added to this type compressor...

    Oil or oil-free air compressor

Last year I replaced my 23 yr old Craftsman compressor with a vertical Harbor Freight POS Central Pneumatic oil lube unit, 21 gallon. Besides being the loudest compressor i've ever heard, it spits oil everywhere. I've tried every level of oil short of running it with no oil. What am i doing wrong?

Blowing out moisture from gas line to furnace

Thanks. Most of what you said is way over my head. Unfortunately, the "family" friend HVAC guy is a crackhead and nobody wants him around. I've not opened the drain in 5 yrs. I did blowout the 1/2" black pipe before I hooked everything up and all kinds of rusty blackish water came out. The...

Moving, going to need to build a garage

Congrats on being able to build your own garage. Hopefully my post isn't too late for your concrete pour. Being in the concrete supply industry I would strongly suggest you look into Vapor Lock Enhanced Concrete, VLEC. We try to put Vapor Lock in 100% of our projects here in Michigan. If cost...

Blowing out moisture from gas line to furnace

So, because of budget reasons when building the garage, I used 1/2" black pipe for the line from the house to the detached garage. Up the wall into the storage space is my furnace. Ten feet before the furnace connection I put a vertical drop cleanout or moisture trap. If I open the trap will I...

    Vapor Lock in your concrete

We just got a second independant lab test back on Vapor Lock enhanced concrete. It showed if you put Vapor Lock 20/20 into your concrete as an admixture, it would take over 6,300 years for one drop of water to go thru 4" of concrete ! And that's increasing static head pressure by 15 times. VL...

    Building New Garage-Need Ideas

If you haven't poured your concrete yet and you're in Ontario, track down a product called Vapor Lock 20/20. It will elliminate any water moisture issues you might have.
