Early A front anti sway bar mount

Layson's is the only place I have seen that carries the square bushings for the early A sway bar. Admittedly, I have not done an exhaustive search. I just did an easy search. The link might work. It might not. I just did this replacement on my 65 Barracuda so I will describe what I did...

Need. Photo of 66 273 auto carb linkage

I actually had this happen a few weeks ago. I floored the accelerator wide open on a two lane road and the kickdown popped off the transmission linkage and jammed against the header. It was jammed so tight the return spring couldn't pull it back. Fortunately, I had enough room and time to...

Dual exhaust .... What are you running

I just installed Doug's Headers w 2.5 inch pipes going to Cherry Bomb Salute mufflers on my 65 Barracuda. Then 2.25 pipes from the mufflers over the rear axle w regular downturns. While 2.5 inch pipes "fit" over the rear axle, they occasionally rubbed on something back there (on my car anyway)...

    Learned something new today

years ago I put a generic radio shack speaker in that spot in my 65 (so I could use a reverb system that I found in a chrysler 300). I didn't even use a grill or do any cutting. It sounded fine.

    Hooker,doug's,TTI?

I discovered today that the discount code applies to the ceramic headers. And today the black friday discount is 25%. I think it's BFSAVE25. The code is good until midnight (well. 1 second before midnight) tonight central time. This makes the ceramic coated headers $789 which is 1 more...

    Hooker,doug's,TTI?

I tried ordering them with that promo code and I keep getting a message saying it cannot be applied. I have tried chatting with a customer service person and have sent 2 emails; I have yet to receive an answer that adequately explains why this code cannot be used. Especially if others are...

Aluminum 4 BBL manifold for a 64 question.

I found a D4b on ebay for the 273 in my 65 Barracuda. Just got it installed a few months ago. It went in fine. Seems to work good. Haven't had it on the strip yet to see if performs better than the factory single plane four barrel that I used to run. That being said, it is my understanding...

    gas pedal rod pops off

I had the same problem at about 220,000 miles. I had to find a new screw on end with a more snug fitting hole for the ball. Of course this was 1989 and I had a parts car.

What I did for my LEDS

I was thinking of doing something similar on my 65. Thanks for showing me how easy it is. I do have one question. Why was it necessary to put the red lens from the LED assembly under the red lens of the tail light?

    Building my 273

In 1997 I rebuilt my 273 doing the following: .040 over, standard pistons shaved the heads to obtain a 9.0 compression 3 angle valve job windage tray 270 duration, .440 ????overlap reground solid lifter cam (it's too much duration but it was free) MSD ignition hi-po commando single...

    1965 Barracuda dash trivia

If you try to put the radio faceplate on upside down, you can't see what station you are on. It will only fit one way.

Where in NC are you? I have a QUIET 3.23 open. I don't exactly want to give it away, but I bet we can make a deal.

    Exhaust

I am running the single hi-po system on my 65 Barracuda. I have the y pipe from accurate. I am very pleased with it. My buddy at the muffler shop did the rest of the system and I have an NOS resonator. Car sounds pretty good. I wish I had used a louder muffler than the magnaflow that's on...

    Intake issues with A/C V8

I'm not really sure if this is an option but, can you put a different t-stat housing on the intake? I guess I'm having a hard time visualizing what the problem is. I think there is a guy on here who needs the oddball intake and has a 66 up intake he might want to get rid of. Gib Warnick (I...

    Intake Manifold # question

My D4B doesn't have a place to mount the coil. I have to fab something up. No biggie. Gib, sorry to hear you bought the wrong intake. I went thru the exact same experience so I now have an incorrect 66 intake that I cannot use. Keep your eye out, the 65 stuff can still be had. By the...

    Intake Manifold # question

You are correct. The D4b is for the 64/65 heads and the LD4B is for the later 273 heads. Although I have heard of others doing what a previous poster mentioned; hogging out the intake holes in the intake that you have a bit to make them work. D4Bs show up on ebay and moparts.com from time to...

    Barracuda Gas Tank Removal

I just disconnected the fuel line. Undid the strap and pulled down towards the pass side of the car. That left the fuel pipe hanging. Rubber grommet was still sealing the tank. Popped it off with a screw driver. I never touched the chrome filler piece or undid the carpet. Didnt' even know...

273 Commando Air Cleaners and Valve Covers

My Barracuda was originally a 273 2 bbl car. I put on a factory 4 barrel intake and small carter afb. I found an factory air cleaner and base somewhere (it was the 80's; it was easier then). The four bbl and 2 bbl air filters are the same diameter for that year. The 2 bbl is slightly shorter...
