Just installed a set of dougs in my 66 Dart. The left side rides on the paint??? going to try to slide the engine over a bit??? It is sitting on a Hemi Denny K member. Had stock exhaust before. Anyone put Dougs in an early a with a 318?? Help and input is appreciated! Thanks. Jim

As long as we're on the subject. 1966 Dart, 318 with 360 heads, Edelbrock intake and 600 carb. Hemi Denny coil over front end. Which headers? I'm looking for performance and ease of installation. The trans mount has already been modified for the dual exhaust. Any input is appreciated. Jim

I think I have clearance to pull it from the top. If not, I did have him put a flange on the right side. If I have to, I can drop that part of the exhaust to add a 90 degree or remote. I guess I'll find out in 500 miles.

Custom. I had Gus at USA muffler do it. Heard good things, was a little concerned but he did a real nice job front to back for 5 bills

I have a shorty in there. I don't think the adapter will make a difference. I had exhaust guy put a flange right before it drops under the trans mount (which I afapted for the dual). I guess I'll drop that small section out when the first oil change is due and look at it from there?

Angle isn't the problem. Filter size. I can back it out, just not enough room to remove it between the torsion bar and exhaust!!

So, the pepop exhaust for the 66 was made very well, but unfortunately for a four barrel car. Originally a 273 car now with a 318. So I decided to go with dual exhaust. Problem is, when the pipe comes off the manifold and passes the oil filter, there will be no way possible to get the filter...

Lol, I love reading this stuff. I did the quick time, no trumpets. Sound great and didn't have any problems. Because of the frame rail connectors, and the cut outs. One hangs a little lower but not enough to concern me. Not planning on any Duke boy type stunts. At the end of the day, do what...

Can anyone tell me where I can get a correct set of exhaust manifold bolts for a 66 273? It's actually a 78 318 with 360 heads and 273 exhaust manifolds. Thanks Jim

Well, I bought the POR 15. Gonna tap the holes andbolt where I took the butterfly out and paint it tomorrow. Going manifold grey I think. Thanks for all the input!! Jim

Thanks, that's good info. I got this as a basket case, it's a 66 dart originally 273, but came with the 318 out of a 78 volare or aspen??

Can someone identify these for me please? I think they're out I'd a 78 Volare. Also, are they supposed to have heat shieds?? Going into a 66 dart. Can I lose the butterfly valves?? Thanks. Jim

I had the headers on my 71 powder coated, wasn't real impressed. Flaked off, etc. maybe it was the craftsmanship. Yours look great by the way!

Who has done what to restore exhaust manifolds?? Paint, powder coat?? Something?? Nothing? 318 mild build with a stock exhaust! Thanks. Jim
