How to clean / polish instruments cluster lens?

Careful with a buffing wheel you can easily burn plastic. I have had luck with a wash cloth and Brasso.

Steering Wheel Crack Repair....What did you use?

I used hot glue, it doesn't get too hard and it is very forgiving and flexible. once you sand it and paint it it is hard to tell it is there. Be careful though the glue gun will melt the plastic in your wheel.

    aftermarket radio install? kits available?

Maybe it is best to leave the original radio where it is and get an Hd tuner that has preamp outputs. add an amp and hide the speakers. the HD head units are quite small and inexpensive and some of them have analog tuners in them.

    Steering Wheel Refurbish

Clean and sand around the crack. Put tape around the crack, leaving a small opening to force the glue in. I would use metal duct tape. After it hardens remove the tape and sand. It never hardens enough that you couldn't dig it out with a small screw driver if it doesn't come out right.

    Steering Wheel Refurbish

I filled the cracks around the base of my wheel with hot glue. Sanded and then painted with vinyl paint. It looks great and it is flexible. Which is why is cracked in the first place.

    Painting my steering wheel

I used the plastic / vinyl die paint also and it worked well. I also used hot glue to fill in the big cracks. Be sure to clean it well and remove any loose peaces.

I looked at mine and there is no carpet there at all it is just painted like yours. Of course it is not original, it is 46 years old and has velour seats. So who knows. I would leave it painted install it if you don't like then worry about it. David
