I have one of each year of these cars, and the 1960 metal grille is not the same size as the 61-62 plastic grille. sorry, but thats a fact.

If youre gonna change the front end to a setup from 62-66 its bolt on all the way except from the steering column. Its shorter on 60-61. Othervise its no problemo....

hmm.. yes, the head that I crash has the smog-spot. but when I try to put an early mainfold on my 5.9 from 2002 tonight, the mainfold toush the head. I did asumed that it was the water chanel in there. I hope that I was wrong....:oops:

Well that´s what I´m trying to do and the water pour out of the head,, the wall i very thin.. When I put my magnum in the car I will build me a set of fender well headers... Otherwise I will go for the TTI headers...

the 64-66 273 mainfolds will NOT work on the magnum. there is a hump right under the exhaust on the heads wich will hit the mainfold. I crash one head trying to machine the head to get the mainfold fitting. :oops: Sorry for the bad Spelling, hope you get what I ment :newb:

I have built my 273 from 65, its a commando. Well I have put a camshaft as the 340s, big valves 2.02/1.60. OpenAir intake with an Edelbrook 600 on the top. HP exhaust with 2.1/2" dual pipe with X-pipe. Here is the teoretical result. As soon the summer comes I will see if it is correct :glasses7:

62 Valiant, 66 front end with 71 disc brakes, chevy custom power brake booster, 64 273 with 71 318 heads, 89 904 lock-up with B&M Star shifter, 71 8 3/4 rear end converted with disc brakes from Toyota Avensis and Pegout 307 calipers. Crazy mix of parts?:D

I recomend that you will get your crankshaft machined for the newer trans. 67-> has the biggger hump on the converter. I have a lock-up trans from 89 behind my 273 and its good.:D
