    Con Rod opinion wanted

    I was scrounging around the garage yesterday and found another set of 318 rods. They are the older ones with bushings. The beam is smaller than the newer press fit rods. The question is: use the newer heavy ones or the lighter bushed ones? Less mass is good but strength factor is important too...

    Cast piston clearance?

    Any opinions? 318 .040 over with cast pistons. Mostly street with as much loud pedal as the law will allow:) Won't be a daily driver. Maybe a couple K a year. 6500 redline? or when it noses over.

    Oversized exhaust valves

    Seems a clumsy uncoordinated dummy let the carbide burr slide across an exhaust seat:( It probably needs new valves anyway. Does anyone have a source for oversized valves? I can find .017 oversized but a teeny bit more would be nice. By the way, it's a 360 head(s) with .375 stems. Thanks guys.

    Stock 360 deck height

    Pulled a stock 360 apart yesterday. After getting all the pistons out I thought now would be a good time to check the deck height. Pulled the rings for easy reinstallation.     Another exhaust manifold question

    Has anyone tried 187 & 188 exhaust manifolds on a small block 68/75 model? They look close on the steering shaft but not so good with power steering. Holding them over the fender of a complete 318 setup that is.

    I've read the stories about poking through the pushrod hole trying to get the port as big and straight as possible. Some didn't have happy endings.     Heads Up! Pondering Info?

    I just reread an article in Mopar Muscle/July 06 about Mopar heads. It rated the various heads as to power output. It said that the swirl port head(302-308 casting) would make more power than the X or J heads!? Following that would be the 92 and up Magnun head. Of course the aftermarket heads...
