Overdriven pulley how much is too much?

Looking at new pulleys and came across the CVF serpentine conversion. There is no info on their web site regarding ratio or pulley diameter (I plan on calling them Monday). I did read a post on here saying the crank pulley is 6.25 and water pump pulley is 5.125 making the ratio 1:22 overdriven...

    Torque strap question?

I have a small block 340 stroker, 475hp, 505tq. I have spool mounts with energy suspension polyurethane inserts. Street car driver. Is it necessary to install a torque strap or chain with the energy suspension inserts?

    Pulley alignment issues

I am mocking up the pulleys: Alternator, water pump, power steering pump and crank. I seem to have about 1/8" out on the crank pulley which is attached to an aftermarket fluid damper. So the power steering is about 1/8 out as well as the water pump to crank out the same amount. Is it ok to use...

Are these mounts OK to use??

I bought these motor mounts from Summit, they are the Anchor brand mounts part number 2325 and 2326. The 2326 mount looks fine, the 2325 mount however has cuts in the sleeve! I thought this was a bad mount so I ordered a new pair through a local Napa store. Guess what? Same thing the 2325 mount...

    Thermoquad on Air Gap

Doing an engine build up and have a edelbrock rpm air gap intake. I have a thermoquad fresh rebuilt and the square bore to thermoquad adapter which is about 1" thick. Does any one know if I will have hood clearance issues? I plan on using a mopar performance unsilenced air cleaner. The build is...

    MOPAR performance cylinder heads

Just wondering about cylinder heads for my 340 stroker build. Which heads are better? I am looking for opinions and real experiences. I have been considering the MOPAR Performance aluminum heads part number P5153849 vs the edelbrock. The engine is a 69 340 4.100 bore, 4" cast stroker crank...

    Building 340 short block

Have a 68 340 in the shop, had it magged, cleaned up and shot blasted. Looks like a good builder, need to go 60 over so I need some help with piston selection. I am going to have the block filled with epoxy block filler (recommended by the shop). They recommend diamond forged pistons for $1200...

    340 engine advice

I have a line on a 68 340 block that has been bored 40 over already. Would this block be a good foundation for a build? I know 60 over pistons are available. The block will cost 300 and all that's included is the caps and it looks very clean. Also I have a 73 318 that I could steal...

    Rebuild or buy new?

I have a 1973 318 short block all stock disassembled. It's time to either build it up or just buy a new engine all together. My plans for the build would include the machine work to bring up the compression, new pistons, new cam, magnum head conversion with EQ heads, thermoquad carb. My question...

    360/300hp magnum crate 1/4 mile

Question for all you guys with the 360/300hp magnum crate or equivalent: in stock form, what are your best track times on the 1/4 mile? Found a nice long block magnum for a decent price and was wondering what I could expect out of it if I just mocked it up close to the specs on the crate engine.

    Magnum cylinder heads

I am planning on the magnum head conversion for my 1973 318. I found a set of ODESSA magnum heads on ebay for $552. ODESSA claims that these heads are new aftermarket, stronger than the originals, made for the 1992-2004 magnum engine. They are like a stock replacment type head and come fully...
