how do you tell the difference between an early 1966- prior versus & 1967 & later style, these are 904 automatics.. one is fine spline & one is coarse on the smaller input shaft. both are slant tranny's thanks Lawrence is there a quick visual way with out looking up the pan id numbers...

just picked these up today!! a moser built 8 3/4 rear with axles & a 489 with 3.55 gears & sure grip-- the sg is not good-- but the rest is ok. I'm most likely going to sel to finance other items-- thanks Lawrence

just picked up this 8 3/4 rear from a 68 satellite-- owner is putting in a dana--- I opened it up & all gears(3.23 single) (7.41 case) looked fine -- the axle bearing on 1 side looked dry(bearings looked ok-- any other things to look for? thanks Lawrence
