Is there an easy way to tell if your heads have been shaved? I just bought a 383 from another member and was curious as to what the compression ratio is gonna be. I think it may be pretty low with stock chamber 452's, Hughes 2050 pistons, and a .039 head gasket. Any insight fellas?

Is it possible to use the stock roller lifters with a hydraulic flat tappet cam. The reason i ask is I am using a magnum block and the roller cams that comp makes are either a little too tame or will require machining down the valve guides for clearance. The flat tappets are about $175 cheaper...

Can anyone give me a concrete answer on how much lift you can get out of a set of stock magnum heads. I've read and heard anything from .500 to .530". Would be nice to know, I'm not sure if the Edelbrocks are going to be in my budget or not. Thanks Mike
