what can I expect from a .030 360 verses a 408 stroker? mostly a street car.
tell me your combo for each. 71 Duster auto.
Starting with a .030 78 360 block, that's it!

performance VS cost on each

how much money you may spend :) i went .030 over plus the 408 stroker

Car has eddy heads, a 240 hyd flat tap cam i believe (dont have specs in front of me), eagle cast stroker crank, magnum rods, magnum block, ross pistons, eddy rpm intake, holley 650 carb, will be putting in msd all in one coil (so i dont have to run ignition box), 8qt sump, and probably more to list.

I will hopefully have the engine started within a month.

been a while since i drove a good street car, had a single turbo 4 speed 73 dart, to much gear and never realized it's potential, want ground shakin', duster, that can hold it's own around the street.

All else being equal (cam, intake, carb, etc) you can expect the 4" stroke to make a little more torque at a lower rpm, a little less horsepower at a lower rpm, and run out or steam a little earlier than the 3.58 stroke. Properly matched components in that 4" stroke will increase the power all around and carry the power higher up in the rpm ranges. Adding the 4" stoke generally adds about 20% to the cost of the build.

Ask and you shall receive, these are my 2 builds the first is the current .030 360 in my duster..
'77 360 block 30 over and decked
stock stroke crank 10/10
speed pro flat top pistons/rings yielding 10.7 to 1 comp.
eagle rods
Lunati .533/.552 "voodoo" hyd. cam..
comp magnum roller rockers
Edelbrock 65cc heads w/mild port work
Edelbrock air gap intake gasket matched..
quick fuel 850 carb..this combo has roughly 406 h.p. and has pushed my '70 street duster to a best of 11.79@111..

Next is my 416,i know you said 408 but i started with a 340 block:
'71 340 block 30 over decked/line honed
mopar 4" cast stroker crank
eagle rods
Diamond flat top pistons yielding 11.9 to 1 comp.
same lunati cam as in the 360
same Edelbrock heads.
same intake..
same carb...this combo ran consistent 11.0's@121 in the same duster,deffinately a 10 second motor...:-D:-D

Wow, that's pretty much exactly what I'm looking at, lol. I'm dying to here what you get out of if. I'd like to know what to expect before I get too far into it.

Wow in deed, going to ask my engine guy how much work / $ to stroke my 340 out 4 inches.

You do know the more stroke the engine has, the more cam it can take / need to breath at high rpms..but that is were the forged stroker cranks are needed.

You got a 10.50 motor if given more cam, converter

Here,s my 408(410)

360, with Eagle steel 4 inch crank
ATI Super Dampner
Eddy RPM,s P&P
10.5 to 1 pistons(.040 over)
Comp cams .631 lift 252@258 solid roller cam
Pro magnum rockers
M1 intake
AED 850 HO carb
Hedman Husler 1 7/8 hedders
8 qrt Mildoon pan and pickup
904 tranny done for racing
