100 mpg from your 318!

-
With that thing in combination with one of the 100MPG carburetors think about the mileage we could get with a small block! A Duster would make a Prius look like a gas hog........

Smokey Unick was beating the hot vapor drum 25 years ago at least. If it was all that practical, somebody would have been selling kits a long time ago.

Getting more energy from the fuel we use is good but not the answer.
100 + miles to the gallon for everyone would just mean more traffic congestion.

like swinger said.if this were for real.the oil companys would have bought it
up in a heart beat. and then burned it!!
how else could they keep their 60 billion dollar quartely profits.

Exxon just posted 8 billion on profits for the lasta 3 months. Wouldn't you spend a few million to buy up all the good inventions if billions were your payback?

We're just pawns, doing what we're told. We're told to burn gas, so we do. I don't have a problem with it, but my wallet does, that's about all.

Oh ya, my Grandfather, a mechanic/welder/machinist/inventor spent decades of his life designing what he called a true rotary engine. He took his plans to NRC (National Research Council here in Canada) and they laughed at him. They said his design was one of the best they had seen, but they told him it would be a couple of years until they could get around to looking at it properly. They then told him that even if it did run he'd need millions of dollars to get it off the ground, and the no car company would buy into it because it would be too efficient. They said the car companies would shut him down in a flash.

He left, discouraged and beaten. He went home and burned most of this stuff. When he passed away in the early '90's I found some of what he had left in his house, including some of this drawings and notebooks, but none of it makes sense to me, some of it is in Danish too. His main designs are gone.

A good man,:king: 30 year auto mec, 8 years in the motor pool army told me this 30 years ago:salut:

They could make these cars get 70 miles to a gallon.
But they won't let it happen,[-X the oil man has the say so.:sad11:

Was it called the K cycle engine? I remember a motor I saw on the news some old guy had made. It ran soooo smooth you could balance a dime on edge on it while it ran! NEVER heard about it after that.

And I remember also reading about Smokey and his homogenizer. Preheated the air/fuel.He had this setup on a 4 cyl pontiac and it made a LOT of power. NEVER heard about it again.

The hydrogen fuel cell adding to your existing system I read about 1 0r 2 years ago in a major paper. Some guy in Montreal invented it and he was loooking for $ to get it to market.

But it's also true that people are desparate and there are alot of scams out there.

Personally I want hard proof before laying down cash.

But I also know that it's quite feasible to get over 50 mpg from your large diesel powered truck by injecting minute amounts of propane. Mopar muscle did this. They also made a ton of power!
