One of the most beautiful engines ever produced : 1958 M-E-L (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) 430 V8 and its "Super" package .
It was rated at 400 hp , with that trio of Holley 2300 Series mixers .

I *believe* that someone's running one in F.A.S.T. ; a Mercury Turnpike Cruiser , if I remember correctly .

Brian Stefina ran one as a pure stocker a few years back.Haven't seen it in a few years though. It was the base model Mercury,I don't think it was a cruiser. That engine pic in your original post is his car.

Thanks for sharing, that's a rare combo. Looks nice in a simple paint job instead of the bright two-tones you usually see.

I had a set of the ultra rare finned valve covers. I sold them for $300. Turns out they go for a grand or more.

that windshield is crazy, always liked the Old Fords..... guess it is in my blood Dad is a Big Ford guy has a bunch of 47's and 50's Fords

A decade earlier and with 10 more advertised horse than a six pack it was the first American iron with 400 horsepower. They did ok in nascar for a couple years.
