Nice! Does the engine turn over? Did they say when the last time it drove / started?
 
The '62 I had in the 70's had an aluminum block. It had head gasket issues for years, overheating if grandpa drove it more than a few miles. It would be extremely rare to find one of those as they were a defective design and would start leaking once they had some miles and/or a few years on them. I replaced mine with a cast iron block when the replacement head gasket didn't solve the problem.
agree...yet people still think they want one!!!
 
I would like to know if anyone successfully resleeved one. We used to do this with Chevy Vegas due to same head gasket issues, original engine would last up to 50K miles, no idea how long the re-sleeved engines lasted. Might be OK for race or seldom drivers.

On the 62 Lancer?
No idea. He never drove it, someone brought it to him to junk and he just kept it with all the rest, knowing it was unique way back then.
