1964 Barracuda wing windows

OK now that I've finally got the car back and have had the opportunity to start putting her back together...here come the questions!
As I'm preparing to re-install the wing window assembly I see that most of the metal is stainless. Except for one side of the "triangle" on the 'outside'. Of course this is all pitted. I cant have that! How do I resolve this? It doesn't appear as if this piece comes off. Has anyone dealt with this?

i would probably have it powder coated due to the cost of re-chroming. there is a powder called almost chrome. i plan on having my headlight grills done this way for that reason.

Dave, can you post a picture of the part you're talking about? And is this driver side or passenger side?
