1964 Dart 270 trim question

May be a weird question, Is this thin trim from the corner of the rear door window back to the trunk factory? I have always disliked the way it looks as it looks kind of out of place. Im also having a hard time finding example pictures of other cars having it. Ive had it off for awhile mostly because I couldn't find replacement clips for them. But I just 3d printed some and resintalled and I think I prefer it without them.

I have a 64 270 4 door and it doesn’t have that piece of trim.
Curious as to what package it would have come with. I would think it would have something to do with the two tone paint available that year or a vinyl top but your car doesn’t have those. Is that the original paint.
I’ll agree that I think it looks better without that piece there.

It is not the original paint. Its was originally aqua blue. But i dont believe it was two tone. Someone had rattle canned it black before u purchased it but it appeared the same color underneath.

Here is mine without that piece. I’m the third owner and other than fresh paint in the 80’s it is mostly original.

Yeah i think i much prefer it without. But its better than the holes for now.
