I know this may be a long shot but I was wondering if anyone had a picture of the original resonator hanger? I am getting a new date coded resonator put on on a couple days and would like to have it looking as close to original as possible. 1965 barracuda 273 barrel commando engine.

I just installed an NOS resonator on my '65 FS with a repro hanger from Accurate Exhaust, along with the exhaust system from them. I did have to shorten the tailpipe to get the resonator to fit. When I asked why I had to modify my tailpipe to get it to fit he said there are several different resonators and I had the long one, longer than their repro offering. I'm still scratching my head on that, even the original box says its for '65 Dart/Valiant w/powerpack.
Right on, yeah I got it installed. Similar to yours we had to cut it back, on mine though it had some sort of a homemade tailpipe to look like the original but it didn’t…

I have one hanging in the shop.
I have a repro hanging on the basement wall waiting for me to install it in my 65 sedan delivery conversion - right or wrong - it’s going on it with the rest of the repro system
I was actually able to use the one from before with a few mods. I am way up north so I was hoping it would work because I couldn’t find a new one.

I just installed the whole exhaust system in my '66 and it has the same Accurate hanger for the resonator. Has anyone had a problem with clearance in a few areas? Mine is a mix of NOS parts (the front Y pipe, rear tailpipe, and the rear resonator) along with Accurate's intermediate pipe and muffler. On mine, the front part of the intermediate pipe doesn't seem to have enough offset to center it in the notch of the transmission crossmember. It seems too close to the torsion bar side and is only an 1/8" from hitting the channel there. Also the tailpipe looks like it needs to go forward or the rear axle housing will hit the front curve of the pipe once it's on it's feet, or, at least when I hit a bump. I'm going to see if maybe I can cut off an inch or so of the Y pipe to shift everything forward, but, I wouldn't think I would have to do that. The hangers all lined up fine and overall length looks good. I'll take a few photos to see what you all think. It's not clamped down tight yet, so, shifting things around or modifying something can be done if necessary. Still, it's not an easy thing to wrestle with on jack stands and using a creeper!

Accurate makes their own system, so when you mix in OEM parts it does not work quite right. Waldron's Exhaust copies the OEM system so their parts would fit better when mixing OEM parts in.
