So today I was able to add the engine into the K-frame. Worked fine and next will be the transmission so I can hook everything up.
The convertible top mecanism is totally apart and will be glass beaded on Thursday. The I can get it in primer and then shoot some black paint.
But it seems like I need to fabricate one bow!!

I was able to make the right rear brake completly done. Left side will be the lsst before adding the front parking brake wire I got from Don. (65 dartman).

Was able to finish the rear right brakes and mounting the wheel opening moulding today. I even added the rear tires!

Thanks! Today I was able to finish up the rear wheelopening moulding. The back end is done. Next week the convertible top mecanism.Wow all those overload springs and shocks they must have been hauling bootleg liquor or dead bodies .

Finally the top mecanism is back from the glass beading. Next is to sand it smooth and get it in primer. The back paint and we are ready to assemble it.
Three days of making new bushings and give it all a paint job resulted in that the top mecanism is almost done!
Finally last night I was able to finish off the convertible top mecanism. One of the two convertible top wires that adjusts the rear frame needs to be fabticated.

Next is to start with the rear inner convertible covers, one on each side of the rear seat. The two armrests are shot so we'll see what to do!

Last night I was able to tear apart the rear convertible panels. Both are in hood shape but one armrest fell apart! It's more like a boat!
So is it someone who has one for sale or is it possible to make a new steel plate and glue it in place? BTW, I need the rear ashtrays incl frame too!

It took almost 8 hours to restore these panels! But it was well worth it and I'm really happy with the result. Next thing is to glue the red carpet at the bottom and add the stainless steel moulding.
The first panel is don and in place. Had to cut a nice 2 dr hardtop rear panel to fit the convertible version. Next is to finish the right side. But the banana joe armrest pad will give me a headache!
Today the glass on the left side was installed and adjusted to perfection. Next thing will be to make one new cable for the rear bow.
My right rear boat...armrest that is, needs some attention. My grandpa taut me yo never give up. So what to do with it?
1. I carved out the old foam.
2. I took a pliar to get rid of the last foam in the corners.
3. I took a piece of eood and made a copy of the pad. I took of about 3/8" all around the wood. Then I can add some extra fresh foam.
4. Next step was to take the saw and get rid of the extra wood.

Next on the list was to make a mold in wood. After it was made I adjusted to mold to fit the armrest pad. Next was to made a model where the armrest will fit when it will be glued together with the wood and the foam.
But first I made a steel plate which was screwed into the wood.
The reason is to put it on top of the consol and mark where the mounting studs should be welded.
Next is the get that special glue.
I was also able to start on the convertible wires. One of them has the mounting end missing. I had a steel plate with the same thickness so I made one out of that.
Now I can paint the wire covers black and mount them.

I had the fortunr to find some stamps on the door panels. Never seen the PAINT INSPECTOR stamp.
The wires was painted black and mounted in place. Now the complete top mecanism is in place and adjusted. Next is to stretch the top boot over the edge of the body.
The front sun visor plate is in place with new plastic cover for the pin to line up.
I even had time to add the antenna.

Thanks Don! Through these times it feels great on getting this one ready.
Today I startrd mounting the pads and the rear plastic window. But first I marked all the holes. The inner moulding holds the convertible boot and the top and then the outer stainless steel moulding just cover everything up!
The chrome is excellent but the stainless steel moulding needs sone attention.
As a matter of fact, one of the drains was with the car. I'm looking for the last one.

Pads are cut and the convertible boot is glued in place. Next is to mount the rear window.
