1965 Dart owners thread!

She's a beauty Bob! tmm
Meant to pass along a thank you! for the compliment on my Dart. I'm a old guy new to Mopars, and am having a blast. The car was so solid I had to buy it. I pulled the 273 (non Hipo) and it is setting in my garage. Looks like a sweet build on the 273.

Toolmanmike, the wheels i'm running are Rocket Racing Fuel Chrome in 15 x 6 with 205/65 on front and 235/70 rear. I wanted to run 16 and 18, but couldn't find the right tire comb in matching tires. I hate mis-matched tires. Within about a few weeks after i bought these, i got a new Summit catalog that had just what i was looking for. Just my luck!

I've got a hood that's on my Dart wagon that the driver's side rear corner was bent sometime in the past (I do have a spare mint hood that I'll swap to the wagon). Too bad you so far away - I'd just give you the slightly damaged hood.

2Dartman........I have a mint steel or a shitty fiberglass.
The steel hood is the one on the car here...........Soon to be replaced by a really nice glass piece.
Great looking cars out there.
The '65 set it's hook in me back in high school , so when it was time to come over to the dark side , there was only one body style I was considering.
It had a stout 340 , 727 , 3.91 in an 8 3/4.
Soon , it will re-emerge with a 405 " R-3 W-9 motor , 904 auto , same gear , but in a braced narrowed housing , I've done a lot since these pics were taken...hopefully I can post the finished product in a month or so.

Here is my poor ol' 65 wagon. Am currently mocking up the interior using 66 Dart buckets, 65/66 Barracuda rear seat and 68 B Body buddy seat. Legendary made me a complete interior with a 66 Barracuda pattern but in the 65 blue color to match the front seat back panels - yes, they will do that.

Hey Kevin your car is looking great....I'm gone for the next few weeks but we have to get together soon.

Thanks, but that picture is deceiving, it really is a work in progress. Need to replace the exhaust for inspection, and have a drain on the battery somewhere. But hey, its all good.

Nice!! What size tires and what are the specs on the wheels.

Thanks,
Mike

Show Wheels Streeters in black from this site in 17x7 front and 17x8 rear
tires are Nitto 555's 245/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear
tried 275/45/17 but they rubbed and had to swap out

65dartman, how well does that barracuda rear seat fit in that wagon?

The seat base fits like it was made for it. The Barracuda seat back hinges mount in the same spot as the wagon hinges and the back moves just like on a Barracuda. If you look at the picture you can see on the passenger rear wheelwell where I've removed the wagon seat latch catch. I've still got to weld the Barracuda latches in the same spot and mock up will be done. I will carpet the entire back area and leave the seat back down like in the picture. It's just me and the wife and there'll be no cargo hauling in this wagon.

Wow. That's good to know. I like the look of the barracuda back seat, and they are much more common then wagon rear seats. My wagon rear seat is almost perfect, but some day when I have both front and rear seats redone I might switch to a barracuda rear seat and use my wagon one as a coutch in my living room. Lol
