Good afternoon,
I purchased a new redondo radio for my '66. Before I get too indepth in the wiring I am wondering the proper way to hook up this new radio to the old wiring harness. The old radio was an AM only model it "worked" when taken out. Thete are 4 wires total with this: red, orange, green, black. The orange went to the light the red I'm assuming is unit power the green and black I'm assuming go to the speaker.
So now my question is on the new radio harness I have a yellow for constant power, a red for accessory power, black foe ground. I am not using an amp or powering any other speakers at this time. So where do I hook the 12v constant yellow wire, and the red accessory wire? Can I just use the old wiring harness or does the yellow constant 12v have to be spliced into the ignition wiring?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you
