Question for anyone who might know - my 66 Barracuda is in paint shop purgatory so I'm working through everything else not related to the body and have a question about the inland shifter linkages. The car is a 1966 with 4 sp console (Formula S) and when I pulled the inland shifter and the shift mechanism, there was no lower boot. I see that you can get reproduction boots, but my question is did the car originally come with one? I've cleaned up the mechanism, replaced the reverse lockout cable, replaced a few clips - but before I wrap it back up and put it on the shelf, if it came with a boot, I might as well get one and put it on (seems like it would at least help keep grime/road dirt/tar out of the mechanism and help hold grease better). Thanks in advance!
