1967 Barracuda fastback fender tag deciphering

-
This is what me thinks at this point.

SPD is definitely Scheduled Production Date.
118 is definitely January 18, 1967.

Customer ordered cars have 691 on the IBM card and the broadcast sheet, and u1 on the fender tag.

The 67 conv above has neither.

It was however shipped on 5/2/1967 and, according to the dealer, delivered to the dealer on 5/10/1967. Not sold by them, delivered to them.

6/10/1967 it was bought, based on the dealer warranty certificate dated that day, and the Certicard punched with 6.67 as the date, both with the same owner's name.
My understanding is Certicards are supposed to have Month.Day.Year, some do some don't.

My theory is, for whatever reason, if a car was customer ordered, or ordered by a dealer (or sent to a dealer) after 1/18/1967, it was Designated Line 2 Build.

I'm thinking a loaded up 1st year bb 4 speed conv was either built by the factory and sent out to lucky dealers, or ordered by dealers.
And in this configuration, considering late model 67 launch, bb availability, conv too, it probably was an 'early' version.

There are multiple dealer order codes that would be on the IBM card/broadcast/fender tag, and this car has none of them.

That's all I got.

Only other is code 702, which equals BID.
I thought I knew what BID stands for, probably did at one point, but it's the only code that would fit M2, possibly, but fyi that conv doesn't have it.

Matt, do you remember deciphering ours? Not sure if it sheds any light?

For what ever it's worth...

I have my 67 dart converts window sticker, fender tag, 2 build sheets, the IBM card copy, and the bill of sale.

It was and U1 as my dad special ordered it.

The IBM card, the build sheet and the fender tag all are in agreement on the build date/scheduled build date to within a couple days

Estimated delivery / build dates

Bill of sale 2/6/1967 (estimated delivery date)
Build sheet 2/8/1967 (part of shipping order number)
IBM card 2/7/1967 (shipping date)
IBM card 2/8/1967 (part of shipping order number)

It was delivered to the dealer about a week later.

And the date on the certa card agrees with the delivery date. My sister and I were in my mom's 65 mustang while my mom and dad picked up his dart on Saturday 2/18/1967 the same date as is on the certa card.

I always thought A/C was not available with a 4sp. Interesting….
Differences between scheduled production and delivery might be due to damage to the vehicle during production. Might have been set aside and forgotten about until the dealer called screaming . Lol
I saw this many times innmy 35 years in the car biz .

I have a 69 Formula S 340 4-speed convertible with factory A/C, and have had a 68 Dart 270 4-door with 273 4-speed and factory A/C, only A-Body's not available with factory 4-speed and air are the big blocks...

I may have thought that because I was into B and E bodies originally. Although my 2nd and 3rd cars were a 73 318 Dart Sport and 71 340 4 sp Demon .

AC and 4 speed not available with 440 in a B body, also AC not available on any N96 B body.

AC not available on BB A body, as stated above.

This is what me thinks at this point
So here is a wrinkle....

I just received my IBM card for my Dart Convertible #2

Note the "Shipped Date" 1/14

Note the "Shipping order number" B01 which translates to 11/01

then the punch card punches in the "shipped date" fields 1114

I'm guessing that either the shipped date field with 1/14 in it is typed 11/14 but the leading 1 is not printed well enough to be visible on the scan or it was a typo.
