I found my console cover and hinge

This is the piece that holds the lid open in 67

This is the back end of the cover and the way the torsion spring attaches to the hinge (The hinge is propped open in these photos)

I was just able to reverse the spring tension on my OEM 67 hinge from stay CLOSED to stay OPEN!

This is the factory stay CLOSED position of the 180deg bend end

This is the stay OPEN position of the 180deg bend end (I tapped the other end of the spring once it was free, to move this end as far out as it would go then gently messaged it over the end of the hinge so it was on the opposite side of the narrow 1/2 of the hinge)

This is the stay OPEN position of the 100deg bend end (I tapped the 180 end back as far as it would go then created tension on the 100 deg end of the spring and massaged it over the wide 1/2 of the spring, the end needed to be bent a tad more but since I was going to put it back to stay CLOSED I did not want to test my luck)

The torsion spring wire was very forgiving.

BUT you could get replacement spring wire 0.065" ( 1.6mm) is what i measured by about 16" long (402mm - 40.2cm)

this is just a quick amazon search

Here are pictures of the one in a car that my neighbor has. He has others also. There is a metal piece in the rear of the console that the tab on the lid locks onto to hold it open. I asked him and he will sell the lid with the hinge and all hardware, and the spring tab at the rear in the console body that holds it open. That is that metal piece in the body not on the lid. It is all from 67-68 parts cars he has. The Lid is pitted bad but he will leave it all together so you can remove it yourself. This set up is in one of the Barracudas he brought home recently. This car is getting stripped for parts.

Ii took a video of the operation.
