I like this guy! I would say just omit the outer brackets but that is way to close.

I think originally the gap looked sort of cheap and not flowing.

Thanks....the smaller gap will have to do, it looks good as long as no pinching occurs!

is the gap even on both sides? if so let'er fly. The bumpers don't shake on the ends without the outer braces.

Made it back to Earth!
That great that you got it to fit. There's always something that need a
little force to put theses old cars back together. A little frustrating at
times. You could press the side brackets out to make them fit or just
leave them out like Rocky says.

The ends of the bumper will twitch if the end braces are left out. You wouldn't see it twitch but others will. Happy moparing
