Before I get to my questions I will say I know i could blindfold my 10 year old niece and play pin the decal on the trunk lid and be good enough, I get it.
Initially I purchased a trunk decal for the convertible off eBay, from my initial search I found a bunch of sellers with the same decal so I selected one and ordered it. I get the decal and checked the assembly manual to see where the factory intended to go. While looking at the drawing I noted the part numbers shown, the one shown for the 67 was different from the number on the decal. The assembly manual had 2533529 and the number on the decal was 2833529, so I Googled the 2533529 number and the ECS decal showed up. I feel the number on the other one is a typo. That being said the ECS one has clipped corners, the others do not.
This is a 1967 magazine that has a picture of the trunk on a 67 Barracuda that is original and not consistent with the assembly manual.
Not sharp enough to see the corners.
Looking for original examples of 1967 decals, Valiant, Dart or Barracuda.
Also trying get a consensus on actual placement.
Again, I'm not looking for examples of 68s (or any year other than 67). This is just an example of two cars that were probably done by the same technician, these two cars are virtually identical in the placement.
One is my friends car, the other is a picture found on the internet.
I have a plan on where I probably will put it, just curious on what the consensus is,
Alan
