I have a 1968 Plymouth GTX with a Chrysler 8.75 rear end and the passenger side rear wheel minorly appears to wobble when you look at it while the car is driving. The car has sat for about 10 years since it was restored and has accrued 1000 miles since often sitting for multiple years at a time and the axle was rebuilt then so it only has 1000 miles on it and the aluminum wheels on it are in perfect condition so I am pretty confident that it did not slide into a curb. I first took the wheels off, and then re seated them and that did not fix it so I then took the wheels to a tire shop and had them balance them and watched the wheels spin straight on the balancing machine. Then, I took the axle to an axle shop and he put a dial on the axles and said that the axle was slightly bent and he was thinking that it had slid into a curb as it is typically the passenger side anyways, but we are pretty confident that is not the case. We put in a new set of Moser axles and green bearings as well as the retainer. After all of that when I put it on the car and while it is not as bad anymore, it still seams to wobble as you can see the light gap come and go between the wheel and the shock tower. What could it be that is causing this issue?

1) welcome aboard.
2)without pictures this post is useless. It is either a bent axle, (rebuilding with new press on bearings can do that). Bent rim- try swapping tires around- just because it is new does not mean it’s straight. Putting a tire on with a bad installer can bend a rim. Or plenty of minor things adding up to your problem.
3) this is an abody forum. You may find specific help at for b bodies only. Not that it all does not translate the same.

Is it a wheel wobble or a bulge in the tire sidewall? The wheel can spin true and still appear to wobble if the sidewall is beginning to fail.
