I'm finally getting around to replace the 1/4 panels on my swinger. I replaced the left side about 3 years ago and then life got in the way for awhile. I started working on it again today. I got the old panel off so far and repair some of the rusty metal under the panel.

and a little piece in the back and that's all we got done today it's not plan to rain for the next 4 days so hopefully i have a new 1/4 by then. because as you can see i have to work outside. thanx for reading if you have any questions about the car feel free to ask.

Man its tough doing that kind of work outside, especially in this weather. What part of MD are you in?

I'm in California MD it was only like 87 yesterday.

Really? Im in Leonardtown, were neighbors. Sweet, a big block sleeper.
I might have my swinger ready for the MIR show this year. I kinda lost momentum on it the past couple months because of the heat.

It was raining last night 8/24/20 so i didn't get a lot done on the car boo working outside.

Nice work keep it up, the pics remind me of my car when I "started it" the body work project. keep at it, it will get done,as it gets closer youll wonder how it ever got as far as it did...

yep im fine with all the mech work but im pretty new with this body work stuff. So i just have to keep at it. I love the mech work that's why i built the engine 68 newport 383 2 bbl to start with now it has forged flat top pistons, fully ported 516 casting heads, roller rockers, cam from comp cams, long tube headers from a b body cut to fit into a dart. i have had the car for about 15 years now and it pretty much always need the 1/4 replaced.

Got a little bit of work in yesterday 8/25/2020 trimed up the 1/4 panel to flange for the new panel and painted some of the bare metal. and started sanding the rest of the paint off. would have made a lot more sense to do this before i cut the old panel off :p oops.

got some more filler on it but the pic didn't turn out right :p
It's going to rain here for the next few days so i might not get to work on it some more until Wednesday hoping to have the car in primer by the end of next weekend.

Looking good! Cover that sucker with a good tarp and keep moisture way from that filer till it cures and you can get it covered with a good primer.
Working outside is a challenge, been there, done it.
