1972 Scamp "Smokey" - Saved From Wildfire

That is way too damn logical and well thought out. I say give it all the beans now but that’s mostly because I want to spend your money and see a twin turbo gen 3 in the car.
Kidding aside it seems like a great plan and as you progress hopefully you can sell some old parts to pay for the new, or at least offset some of the cost of new.

LOL. It's taken every fiber of my being to not jump head first into the G3. I even have a forged BGE short block in my shop waiting to go in.

But I have to be smart at this stage. I've seen too many guys get in over their heads with big money builds, and they could never figure out the chassis. RacingJunk is littered with cars like that. That's actually what happened to me, and that's why I retired 20 years ago. I got burned-out trying to tackle too many variables at once by going too fast - too soon. I didn't have a plan then. I'm trying to not make the same mistakes twice, so I'm taking it slow. Just having fun and being a good Ambassador for the MOPAR community.

An intelligent man learns from his mistakes and doesn’t make the same one twice.

I really appreciate that. Thank you!

Just realized that I didn't upload photos of the fuel cell that I built earlier this year.

This cell was tricky because I didn't want to cut the spare tire well out of the trunk. I had to make something that held at least 10 gallons, curved around the spare tire well, and cleared the bracing on my D60 and fuel pump.

Came out pretty good

Wow, that is fantastic fabrication.

Thank you! LOTS of cardboard was harmed during the mock-up stage. Lol. Thank God for Amazon boxes.

I must have made 3 or 4 different shapes before I landed on this one. I might narrow it a bit over the Winter so it tucks up a few inches.

Cardboard aided design. Used that many times. I’m very impressed by your aluminum welding.
