Just Like the Title says.....

about a Month ago we went to go look at a MGB at the local storage barn less then a mile down the road. We went and in the corner of my eye The first thing I see is the pacer! On our way to go look at the MG we had to walk by the pacer.... That was a mistake. we looked at the mg and on our way out we took a closer look at the wagon... To see it is a 258 4 speed wagon woodgrain. we didn't think much of it but on our way out we figured we would get the guys number. We called him and he is 84 years old and at one time owned 47 pacers here in Vermont. He got rid of everyone of them except of this one and put drove this one into the storage barn in 1988 and has paid $50 a month to just keep it there and if you add that up it is $15,000 .....

Now the car........

Exterior : car is a orig. Colorado car. original paint. There is dents, scrapes , scratches and lots of fading but that's just patina. Floors and frame are all PERFECT everybody panel is great!! there is a little bit of rust on the passenger side quarter below the woodgrain behind the wheel. There is also a little bondo on the roof near the hatch.

Interior: ALSO VERY VERY nice, He kept blankets on the seats and everything on the inside is very very nice.

plans for the car:

1:Get it running -New cap , Rotor , fuel Pump ,coil ect.

2: New Tires

3: rebuild front and rear brakes

4: Give to body shop for them to restore the finish on the paint

5: drive the heck out of it, we stil can not believe how orig. it is.

We ende up buying it for $500

that's badass!!!!! I scored a 78 pacer DL for 100 bucks! 304 V8/TF904 auto, power steering, brakes, cruise control, console shift, black vinyl seats that are immaculate, steel 3 spoke steering wheel, black interior, dash is perfect, has a couple "whiskey dents" but nothing major. I have plans to get it going here soon as well.

GOOD NEWS! it runs, last night was our night that we dedicated to the pacer running.Tthe first thing we did was unhook the fuel line at the filter and put it into a pepsi bottle. we then changed the battery for a redtop I had sitting around and cranked it, It cranked right over and we knew it was going to start. Before this we could turn the fan and it would turn over with ease and all the fluids looked brand new. we craned it over and looked at the gas and it looked brand new.

I then hooked the fuel line back up and it started right up.

We backed it on the driveway and tested all the lights, wipers, heater and washer witch all worked and proceeded to take it down the road! I could not believe it , 26 years of storage and all wedid was a battery and drove it down the road!

Great Pacer, I love it! Will be following this one to see how she cleans up! I'd buy as many like that as I could find for $500 for sure!

72Dodge you want mine? im looking to sell. comes with an extra rear hatch WITH glass. :)

If it's that nice, nearby, and cheap, yeah! :)

Post up pics somewhere so we can see it... maybe we need a Pacer thread!

Wayne's world move just comes in my head.
At least it has a 4-speed.
304. 360. 390. 401 will bolt right in, all you need is motor mounts.
Bolts right up to the trans.

I bet you can sell the 258 for a jeep guy for what you paid for the car.

Absolutely epic! Griswold status. There used to be a guy in Sterling, MA who had a yard full of Pacers. Strangest thing I ever saw but I drove by his place often when I lived there back in '94. No idea if they are still there but if it's any help his house in on Hwy 62 on the south side of the road...fairly near the center of town as I recall. Congrats on the find. A vanity plate that reads "LOL" would be perfect on it.
