to start the car?
i idiotically routed my exhaust too close to the gas stank and burned holes in the tank. i dropped the tank and realized i had a tank from a 76. i got it to fit in there and put the filler neck on, reconnected the sending unit wire. added 1 gallon (it was completely empty) and the car turns over but doesnt seem to get fuel.
is 1 gallon not enough? do i need to let gravity get it started? or perhaps add fuel to the carb and then maybe that will get the pump going? or is there some incompatibility with the 76 and 67 tanks?
also on the 76 tank there looks to be a vent? nipple in the center of the tank and the 67 does not have one. there is also another of these nipples at the top of the filler tube that looks like the previous owner just vented beneath the trunk - is that all its for?
thanks everyone
