2024 15th Annual FABO NASCAR "Pick 'Em" Game - One More Time!!!

-
How many of us have seen our Mopar's engine temp as high as 350F? Early in the race at Las Vegas William Byron's car picked up a trash bag that covered the entire radiator opening and the announcers said his coolant temp was at 350F as he entered the pits to get the bag removed. The fact that the engine lasted for the complete 400 miles was pretty amazing.was still running

Congratulations to 'Alsant' (FBBO), 'Back in Time' (FABO), 'ocdart' (FABO) and 'Yunick13' (FABO) for correctly picking #5 Kyle Larson as the 2024 Pennzoil 400 race winner. Each picked up -5 bonus points.

Nobody picked #45 Tyler Reddick as the race runner-up so no race runner-up bonus points this week.

'ocdart' (FABO and 'Yunick13' (FABO) shared the low net score honors for the week with
-3.5 points each.

#5 Kyle Larson was the race leader and #45 Tyler Reddick was in 2nd at the ends of both Stage 1 and Stage 2.

Here are the game standings following the 2024 Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

As a reminder here's a quick explanation of what the above numbers represent:
(your score before the race) (your Pole pick car #) (Pole winner bonus point) (race pick car #) (race pick car #) (Stage 1 bonus points) (Stage 2 bonus points) (race pick finish position) (race pick finish position) (race winner/runner-up bonus points) (your score after the race)

Please let me know if I show either your Pole or Race picks incorrectly or if you have any questions.

Please post your picks for the next race and let me know if you want to "lock" them in for future weeks. I will put an "L" before either your Pole pick or your race picks to show they've been "locked".
As always, you can always make different picks each week. Your "locked" picks will always be there should you forget to post your race picks, your computer malfunctions or the site should go down temporarily.

Don't forget to get your picks for the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway posted before the green flag drops at approximately 3:45 PM EDT (12:45 PM PDT) on Sunday, March 10.

Your Pole Pick for Phoenix will need to be posted before qualifying starts at 3:20PM EDT (12:20M PDT) on Saturday, March 9.
Cup Series practice at Phoenix is scheduled to start at 3:05PM EDT (12:05PM EDT) on Friday, March 8.

As much as I would to take the credit for picking Larson to win I actually picked Logano /Byron for the win. Larson was my pole pick.

Thanks for letting me know.
The scores were corrected...only the names in the 'congratulations' were wrong.

Yesterday, Byron's crew chief told Sirius/XM Radio's "The Morning Drive" that the trash bag was a 55-gallon size like you would find in the infield trash bins. The bag probably had a beer can in it because they found a Silver Bullet can stuck in the car's air filter after the race.

Nice weekend!
In addition to whatever #11 Denny Hamlin earned from his 8th place in Las Vegas he also took home $300,000 for winning a blackjack tournament...

Change my Phoenix Pole Pick to Denny Hamlin. Race picks subject to change

I'll stick with Byron/Busch for the Race

@memike, Phoenix qualifying starts in about 15 minutes. Do you have a Pole pick?
Do you want to 'lock' in a Pole pick for the remaining races so you have a chance to pick up the Pole Pick bonus?

Congratulations to 'Back in Time' (FABO) for being the only player to correctly pick #11 Denny Hamlin to be the quickest qualifier at Las Vegas.
He picked up

Nobody picked either #20 Christopher Bell to be the race winner, or #17 Chris Buescher to be the race runner up so no bonus points this week for either.
