Neighbor up the street when I lived in the desert raced USRC Midgets, I helped him out on occasion. At Orange Show back than they still used the football field. Well they made a barrier of utility poles laid end to end to keep the racers off the field. Neighbor got all outa shape coming out of 4, the left front contacted one of those poles right on the end. A sliver of that pole about 2" thick and 4' long went through that tire right at the edge of the rim. Ended Woody's night. Real booger to load into his pickup

Sounds fun, and I am sure he had had many good nights of racing, best drug there is in my world.
