So what was Carlos final score? Or is that some kind of secret? J.Rob
Carlo Final numbers 606.9HP at 6300 556lbft 4900rpm for a 3500-7000 AVG 501.2So what was Carlos final score? Or is that some kind of secret? J.Rob
Thankyou....So the missing 80ft.lbs was peak torque I would imagine? So 556+ 80 = 636lbs!? I actually heard him say 81 lbs so 637ft/lbs from 410 cubes? So 1.55 lbs/ci? Yeah wow that engine is astounding. J.RobCarlo Final numbers 606.9HP at 6300 556lbft 4900rpm for a 3500-7000 AVG 501.2
yeah.. i feel bad he came down that far and thrashed and had issues.. but that motor is wicked.. i would love to see what was done to the heads just out of curiosityThankyou....So the missing 80ft.lbs was peak torque I would imagine? no.. i was watching the stream for like 12 hours yesterday.. in the background mostly... they talked bout him and the work he put in to just get thereSounds like you wee there...Were you with a team or as a spectator? J.Rob
was illegal on the intake? height i assume? that thing was massive..Well the controversy continues, salter told swcheen he could run heads that were prohibited in the rules, it seems to me the rules dont matter. The ford had a illegal oil pan, Carlos engine has a illegal intake with separate external water lines.
Like I said----Shenanigans....always. In all my years of EMC a total of 8 and fielded 2 engines for 2 years which equals 12 entries.....Always witnessed more than a couple of blatant illegal entries...and......no one was tossed. I could tell you a great story of when they attempted to toss me in 2014 for my W9 cylinder heads...lol that was fun. It was required that your water outlet be part of the intake casting. They didn't want "spider" type intakes.was illegal on the intake? height i assume? that thing was massive..
ahh yeah, saw the lines but didn't know the rule about that.. and yeah so half the motors didn't fit the rulesIt was required that your water outlet be part of the intake casting. They didn't want "spider" type intakes.

Corey was and is always legal, I saw him once get busted because he had the normal Milodon 7qt pan on his smallblock one time but there was a width rule about not being wider than some dimension (don't remember) and he took the pan off and beat the **** out of it with a hammer to "make it about .100"" narrower. It wasnt usually the tech guys--it was usually some other competitor complaining out of fear that triggered a protest. In my case it was a fellow competitor that was frightened by the sight of my W9 heads that got the head tech to try and get me ejected. I never ever built anything that wasn't 100% by the rules because 1. I'm Canadian. 2. I didn't want to do all that work/spend $$$/drive down/take the week off etc.....Just to get tossed. What sucks the most, is greg and cory appeared to be legal, and I am 100% confident that we had those 2 covered by plenty.
I'm not too impressed with the W9's at all..The smallest port is too big IMO.chamber is too deep , throats are not the right shape although the exhaust is incredible though 240+ cfm through a 1.6" I just think...363cfm should make way more than 665hp. The W9 is a BIG compression, BIG cam, BIG intake/carb, BIG RPM, BIG header, BIG stall kinda cylinder head. Not good for this kind of competition. J.RobW9s seem almost magical.. i run into brett miller dyno videos now and then with w9s and those motors sound insane and make crazy power

Let me go look at the rules......J.RobIf you were doing this with a 410 cube limit what head would you start with?
What heads did Corey use? Were they Indy? J.RobAs far as Mopar entries go, 2 of the 3 are in the coulda/woulda/shoulda camp. Corey laid down a very, very impressive run without some of the most desirable equipment. He put together a bunch of parts that work well together. Congrats to him. As people say on here all the time, it’s about the right combination and tuning.
yeah 360-2s i believeWhat heads did Corey use? Were they Indy? J.Rob
Correct. With Indy manifold.yeah 360-2s i believe
I just looked at indys site... it says 3600.. but not if that's a pair or per head..Correct. With Indy manifold.
I haven’t looked lately, but that price sounds like a pair but unported. I think the entire top end, ported would run 8-10k. That’s part of what made the parts I already had look good.I just looked at indys site... it says 3600.. but not if that's a pair or per head..
