I was looking at a 65 4 speed Valiant Barracuda with a 273. When talking to the guy he said the engine has 318 heads. Now is this a better combo that what the engine had to begin with?
Thanks guy's

273 heads had closed chambers but then some 318 heads did too
Which 318 heads is the question I guess. If the 318 heads have hardened valve seats, that's a plus.

I'm agree with RedFish, you really need to find out what 318 heads are on it ,harden valves are the way to go,they are set up for the unleaded gas and if its older set of heads you will have to run a lead substitute in the gas to keep from destroying the vavles in it.

Thanks The old guy does not have any details on the engine other than the heads are 318...I would assume they were swapped out for better heads but the guy who did it was a mechanic for Ford so who knows....I guess that explains the Ford 9" rear LOL
Thanks
AL
ps Ya Craig we will have to have a peek at that 68...

If it gets rid of the 5/16" funny-angle intake bolts, that's a good thing. I see the occasional dart driving around here, cudas pretty much never
