3.55 or 3.91

-
I had a 318 w 360 heads. 3.91s. Freeway was a little painful after 10 miles or so. Around town was totally great. Where you driving it? Oh, mostly the track. Definitely 3.91s. Especially with a 27" tire. You will really need the 3.91s on the track. Friggin dual 2.5" pipes with an x pipe.

3.91 and keep a REALLY tall set of tires and rims around so that if you want to take a trip somewhere you wont be screaming 4000 rpm at 75 mph

There is only 360 rpm difference between the gears.
Use the 3.91 behind the 318, they like to rev for the strip.
I am with everybody that the 3.23 gear is really nice on the highway.
4.30 and up for the strip for best performance.

Well you could always smack a 4 speed overdrive in it with 4.30 gears out back. Then you would have a 13.29 first gear and a 3.14 high gear. Best of both worlds.

OK....3.91`s are in as is the 8 3/4. I was able to do 95% of the build by buying parts from other FABO members. Thanks for all your help.

Look for us at MATS

3.91 still ok on the street, just a little tuff on a long hwy drive. good for the track:)
